Whether it’s pantry staples, clothes and even electronic gadgets, you probably will not have a hard time finding exactly what you need on that website. Who Is Luca Davenport?

Luca Davenport is an ecommerce seller, coach and the founder of the Amazon Brand Academy.

Unfortunately, there is very little to be known about Luca Davenport. With these kinds of individuals, you would have assumed that they have either a YouTube video where they tell their journey up to that point or a press release on some random website. But it doesn’t seem that Luca Davenport has either of those. Which is surprising, to say the least. He doesn’t even have an about page on his personal website where he could do that.

You wouldn’t really have expected that Luca would have gone the ecommerce route considering that he took up a degree in cell biology from the University of Manchester from 2013 to 2016. But sometimes, people don’t really go through the path that their degrees often lead to. At some point, you’re bound to work a corporate job regardless of whether or not your degree is related to it. But it doesn’t seem that Luca had a corporate job at all, if his LinkedIn profile is any indication.

Luca started his career in ecommerce in 2018. You could assume that Luca probably had the idea of getting into ecommerce from somebody from YouTube. I mean, at that point, you couldn’t really escape videos focused on ways to earn money online. But, like any kind of journey, it was a bumpy one for him. Still, Luca soldiered on and was earning a decent income from his business by then.

So in 2020, Luca decided to start his own YouTube channel. The reason he had for that was that he wanted to challenge himself. And, boy, was it a challenge. It took him a while to get to a thousand subscribers. Even then, he was really getting a lot of views from his channel.

Still, that didn’t really stop Luca from getting to the next step of an ecommerce influencer. And that’s creating your own training program. Which he did a few months after reaching that subscriber milestone. It seemed that the initial version of Amazon Brand Academy proved to be successful. Which lead to Luca launching the upgraded version of it, aptly named Amazon Brand Academy 2.0.

What Is Amazon Brand Academy 2.0?

Amazon Brand Academy 2.0 is an online training program where you can learn everything that there is to know about starting your own ecommerce business through Amazon.

Like any kind of Amazon-focused ecommerce training program, Amazon Brand Academy 2.0 will teach you how to utilize what is often referred to as Amazon FBA. FBA stands for Fulfilled by Amazon, which refers to the fulfillment service that Amazon offers through its seller program. A fulfillment service is basically a third-party that handles the storage, packaging and delivery of the products that you sell online.

And considering that Amazon provides its own fulfillment service, that means that Amazon will let you use their facilities and personnel to handle your products for you. Of course, you are going to be paying Amazon a fee if you choose to use their fulfillment service. Usually, they calculate how much you’re going to pay based on what type of products you’re going to sell and how many of those products you currently have in stock.

What’s Included In The Course?

There are a total of 21 modules in the Amazon Brand Academy 2.0 course.

The first two modules in the course serves as the introduction to what you will be getting out of the course. In the first module, Luca Davenport will introduce you to the Amazon FBA system as well as something called private labels. Private labels refer to any kind of product that a third-party produces but is sold through the retailer’s own brand. At the end of the first module, there will be a quiz.

In the second module, you will be going through every single aspect of the platform being used for Amazon Brand Academy 2.0 It is interesting that this specific set of lessons is relegated to the second module instead of the first. They definitely could have changed it. But it’s sort understandable why they wanted to focus on the business model first before talking about the platform you’re using to learn.

The third module of the course is focused on setting up a business entity. Before you could even begin to sell on Amazon, you have to have all of the documents sorted out for your business. In this module, you will be learning the differences between a limited company and and a sole trader. You will also learn how to set up a banking account for your business, as well as other aspects like accounting and insurance.

Considering that Luca Davenport is from the United Kingdom, the fourth module is going to be focused on the U.K. tax system. In this module, you will be learning about value added taxes and how they work. There will also be lessons regarding income tax, corporation tax and dividend tax.

The following modules after that are focused on setting up a seller’s account on Amazon, what type of mindset to have when running a business, understanding your target audience, and how to research for products that you are going to sell on the platform. There are so many things that you have to do in order to have a chance of being successful in selling on Amazon. You can’t really consider it as a one-and-done situation. The process goes in circles, especially if you are selling products.

Final Verdict – Amazon Brand Academy 2.0 Review

There’s nothing particularly wrong about Amazon Brand Academy 2.0. But it isn’t really something that I would highly recommend to everyone. Considering how in-depth this particular ecommerce training program is, not a lot of people will be able to put the information they get from it into use. And that’s because starting your own ecommerce business takes a lot of work. You are going to spend a lot of time and money just at starting the business.

Even if you manage to get the funding to start your own ecommerce business, it doesn’t really guarantee that the success will be immediate. You will be competing against a lot of other sellers, some of them probably were also enrolled in Amazon Brand Academy 2.0. Everybody’s fighting for the same type of audience. And it will take a lot of strategy making to come out on top.
