Today, we’re going to take a look at the course Book Profits by Luke Sample. Is this worth a try? Let’s find out in this Book Profits review.
Before I begin this Book Profits review, let me commend your due diligence in researching this first before you invest in this program.
As you may already know, there are several opportunities out there claiming to help individuals earn a lot of money, especially online. And they all come in various forms.
While they can come in many forms, many of them will introduce what they usually call a new “business opportunity”. Unfortunately, their legitimacy claims can vary.
Some of them are proven to be legit. A few of them are just scams in disguise. Still, others may very well be legitimate, but they don’t work well according to what you want to do.
That’s why, before you spend your hard-earned money to join any of these opportunities, you should do plenty of research first. So you can decide for yourself if the opportunity offered to you is something that you’d like to do, or not.
And this is what this Book Profits review aims to do. Hopefully, this review can help you out with that important decision of yours.
As a disclaimer, this is a fully unbiased Book Profits review , based solely on my own observation and honest opinion. And I’m not affiliated with Book Profits or any of its creators at all in any way or form.

You should check out my top recommendation for making money, instead of this.
What Is Book Profits?
Book Profits is another system that offers you another idea to make money online. This time around, the business idea they’re going to teach you is, in a nutshell, book arbitrage.
The idea behind this is simple. You look for very cheap but relevant books from an existing vendor, flip (sell) them for a higher price, and earn from the difference.
The system itself contains a training program, and software. The training program will teach where you can find the best place to find cheap books, as well as how to set up your Amazon selling account (since this is where all the selling takes place).
The software, on the other hand, helps you with the process. It allows you to find the cheapest books online based on your preferences, so you can sell them off for a profit.
If you think this sounds familiar, that’s because it is. It’s basically very similar to a previous online moneymaking system, Higher Path Ventures (also from the same creators). Most likely, this is just a rebranding of Higher Path Ventures for reasons still unclear.
It has also come by with other names in the past, like…
- Textbook Money
- Book Arbitrage
Nevertheless, it still doesn’t change the fact that this business model isn’t as good as it claims. The concept of book arbitrage is simple, yes, but it’s not guaranteed to be profitable.

The People Behind Book Profits
The Book Profits program is created by Luke Sample and Jon Shugart.
Not much really is known about them, other than the fact that these two digital entrepreneurs co-founded the Book Profits program. Though it was said that Luke Sample was featured on the Wall Street Journal when he was 23 years old.
A common trend among these financial gurus is that it’s frequently mentioned that their passion is to “help people achieve financial freedom“. It sounds teaching people is actually what they want to do to us.
Of course, we all know it’s just a big marketing tactic to get you to sign up for their programs.
Because if they do, they could’ve just put up a YouTube channel or some other social media platform and made detailed training videos from there. Instead of creating an online course that they’re going to sell to others.
What’s Inside Book Profits?
Book Profits includes a training course and software which you can use. There are also other benefits that are available to you to further assist with your book-selling business.
Training Program Summary
The training course for Book Profits teaches you everything that you’ll need to get started on your book arbitrage business.
Of course, the important lesson you learn here is how and where you can find books for lower prices, then sell them at a higher price for profits.
Aside from the main lessons, you’ll also learn other relevant things:
- How you can offer free shipping for your products to increase your sales
- Taking advantage of the “Amazon Prime” feature to sell your books for even more profit.
- Product & Keyword Research
- Other things you need to know about Amazon, like the Amazon Sales Rank
- Using the Amazon Trade-in Program to get more books, plus how to convert the gift cards Amazon pays into real cash.
- How to use other platforms besides Amazon to find even more cheap books.
Do take note that the course mentions that converting the gift cards that Amazon pays for the trade-in program into cash, can be a hassle for others. That’s why they recommended avoiding it whenever possible, and instead, using other online selling platforms when finding books to sell.
The software included isn’t really anything special. But it does greatly simplify some of the tasks that you’ll be needed to do here.
It focuses on greatly easing your product research. With this software, you’ll be able to find cheap books to buy with greater ease than doing it yourself.
The Book Profits program also takes care of any logistics that you need. For a small additional cost, you’ll be able to outsource some of the needed logistics for your online bookstore.
These include, receiving the books that you ordered, opening and inspecting them, repackage them, then shipping them to Amazon on your behalf. While incurring a small cost, you can take advantage of this feature so that you can earn passive income using this program.
How Much Does Book Profits Cost?
The cost of joining the Book Profits program hasn’t really changed much from its original price. It can still cost you a one-time payment of $3,000, then for every succeeding month that you’re in the program, you’ll be charged $297.
Expect that you’ll also be dealt with various upsells that can make the program cost more for you. Of course, many of these, you don’t need to buy.
With or without upsells, however, if you enroll in this online course thinking that this business idea would let you earn money, you would also need to keep in mind one thing.
The capital that you need for starting a book arbitrage business is quite high. That’s a given since most books, even the cheapest ones, are still quite expensive.
Combined with the cost of enrolling in this course, overall, this business idea isn’t really the best way, especially for some newcomers.

Is Joining Book Profits Worth It?
What I’ve noticed while looking for information on Book Profits, is that you can’t find any credible success stories from people who enrolled in the program. Sure, there are testimonials around, but they come from websites that are affiliated with the creators, and thus can contain some sort of bias.
That’s not to say book arbitrage is a bad business idea. It’s a great idea for bookworms and book collectors who want to make a business out of their love for books. And it’s potentially scalable, too.
However, you still have to deal with market saturation. It’s the main reason why it’s very hard to make a profit from selling on Amazon. Sure, there are lots of customers, but there are also tons of sellers like you there.
And most of the time, the ratio between customers and sellers on Amazon is pretty bad for profit.
But the biggest problem of Book Profits, is its reputation.
They have a good reason for rebranding many times in the past It’s because they have a slight reputation for almost scamming people.
The best example is that most people who tried out these programs complain that their software doesn’t work. At all.
The reason for the rebranding is still unclear. But you can already guess that the reason isn’t a good one. Most likely, they’re doing it since their former names have already gained such a bad reputation among people who tried their program.
They even took it a step further by saying, on its Terms & Conditions, that once you signed the contract, you won’t be able to do the following things.
- They can’t guarantee that the software will work.
- You can’t file a Class Action Lawsuit.
Basically, once you sign in, you’re forbidden to complain about anything there.
So, Is Book Profits A Scam?
Overall, the business idea of book arbitrage could be worth it, if it’s done right.
But the Book Profits program itself? All signs point to this program as a scam. Or at least, very close to it.
Simply put, if your product is legitimate and has a good reputation among customers, then there’s no need to change its name at all.
The training provided by this program may be legitimate, and they may have a few people who found success using this method. But the overwhelming negative complaints of the members of one of its past incarnations suggest that this course didn’t give the right value for its price.
Book Profits is also infamous for blocking some members from giving negative feedback to this system or filing a legal complaint. They even filed a DMCA complaint on a review about this program, though it’s only because they’re using their pictures.
Even so, why do those things? What are they hiding?
Book Profits Review: Final Thoughts
Closing off this Book Profits review, I would like to give some final thoughts regarding this.
We can all agree that Amazon is the biggest and probably one of the best eCommerce platforms out there. And it’s attributed to the fact that there’s a lot of people visiting that site, who wanted to buy certain products or services.
However, if you want to set up an online eCommerce business on Amazon, you’re going to need a lot of effort. And there’s always the problem of market saturation, so expect to have some low sales at times.
But the good thing about some eCommerce businesses like book arbitrage is that, it’s scalable when done correctly. If you are well-equipped with the right knowledge for this business, you’ll certainly thrive.
Most of the time, it all starts with finding the right training. Luke Sample and Jon Shugart’s Book Profits certainly isn’t one of them.
It’s very difficult to trust your hands on a program that has had a very bad reputation in the past. In the end, you may only end up wasting your money on this.
But the business idea itself is legit. Though it’s not really for beginners or anyone since it needs a lot of capital to get started.
If this book arbitrage isn’t for you, then you may want to take a look at my highly-recommended business model to make money online. To find out more about it, keep on reading beyond this Book Profits review.
