What Is iPEC?

iPEC Coaching Review - Banner

iPEC is a training program that aims to develop individuals so they can have the necessary tools and skills they needed to be a life coach. iPEC stands for Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching.

It claims to include a full span of curriculum modules, specialized training, and full certification for your life coach training. In addition, it also includes business development assistance, peer networking, and research-backed assessment tools intended for an all-inclusive educational experience at iPEC.

One of the selling points that iPEC state on their website is what they call their “Core Energy Coaching” process, which seems to be the foundation of their training. Though in reality, it’s just a fancy term for their teaching style that empowers their students to be what they really want to accomplish, be it in their career, or in their overall life.

iPEC is also a certified member of the International Coaching Federation. This means that you can be an ICF-certified professional coach as part of your credentials if you enroll in iPEC’s educational program.

The People Behind iPEC Coaching

iPEC is led by an executive team that consists of members who themselves have earned several certifications in professional coaching. Not only that, some of them also have some background and credentials in the medical field.

iPEC Coaching Review - Executive Team

iPEC’s founder is Bruce D. Schneider.

iPEC Coaching Review - Bruce D. Schneider

Aside from being the founder of iPEC, Bruce D. Schneider is also a Master Certified Coach, and a licensed psychotherapist. He’s also quite active as a speaker, having held several seminars, keynotes, workshops, and coaching sessions.

According to Bruce’s bio on the website, his inspiration for becoming a professional life coach came from an event when he was still young. When he was 18 years old, a late-evening highway encounter with a drunk driver almost put him on the brink of death.

But in what can only be considered a miracle, despite the odds all stacked against his life, he survived and went on a full recovery. Bruce can only consider this as a second chance in his life, and decided to make it worth living.

“My role and gift in life is not to teach, preach, or convince anyone of anything. I am here to empower others to get their own answers, access their true dreams, and overcome anything that gets in the way of making those dreams a reality.”, says Bruce in his statement.

Since that life-changing event, Bruce has apparently studied to become a licensed psychotherapist. And it became the stepping stone that led him to become a professional motivation coach, and eventually found iPEC.

iPEC Coaching’s Training Programs

iPEC coaching offers two training programs to suit your needs. What program you should take depends on how comprehensive and intensive the training that you want for yourself.

Both of these programs, however, will give you the necessary tools and training in order for you to start your professional coaching career. Here’s a quick rundown of the two courses that iPEC coaching offers.

Life And Leadership Potentials

iPEC Coaching Review - Life And Leadership Potentials

The Life And  Leadership Potentials training program is the first program offered by iPEC. This basically serves as an introductory program for those who wanted to see if being a professional life coach is good for them.

But just because it’s an introductory program, doesn’t mean it’s lacking in quality. The program goes through 30 of the core skills that you will need as a coach.

This is for individuals who want to have the skills that are necessary to be a coach but aren’t ready to commit to being a professional one. Basically, once you finish this program, you already have the foundation you need to start a professional coaching career, but you still need certification in order to be considered as “legitimate.”

The Life And Leadership Potentials program lasts for a total of 30 hours, spread across three days. After you finish the program, you’ll also have the opportunity to participate in iPEC’s Ambassador Program, which is basically just a referral program oof sorts.

If you refer a friend to iPEC and they enroll in any of the programs, you can receive up to $595 as a thank you for spreading the word.

ICF-Accredited Coach Training Program

This program is what can we call as the main offering of iPEC. It’s the most comprehensive coach training program iPEC has to offer, and is what you need if you want to be a fully-certified professional coach.

The program consists of three series of three live, intensive training sessions spread out at 3-month intervals. Each session lasts for 3 days, morning to evening. The iPEC website calls these training sessions “modules.

For example, if you start your first iPEC training module in the month of January, once you finish it, your next training module will be held in April, three months after. After finishing that, your last training module will be held in July.

You can choose to attend your modules either at a physical location, in the city closest to you, or even online from anywhere. You can also choose the schedule of the 3 days that comprise your training sessions. Meaning, you can take them on Fridays/Saturday/Sunday if you prefer the weekends, or Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday if you want midweek training.

All in all, the training program lasts a total of 320 hours. And once you finish it, iPEC will grant you three coaching certifications.

  • Certified Professional Coach (CPC)
  • Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI)
  • COR.E Dynamics Certification

How Much Does iPEC Coaching Cost?

The cost of iPEC’s training programs depends on the program in question. Here’s a price list for the programs that are offered by iPEC.

  • ICP-Accredited Coach Training Program – $13,995
  • Life And Leadership Potentials – $2,495

As you can see, both of iPEC’s programs are almost prohibitively expensive. But honestly, you get what you pay for. The quality and reliability of iPEC’s programs is unquestionable.

Still, with that price, not really everyone can afford this training. So it’s easy to say that if you want to be a professional coach, you’re going to have to shell a hefty amount of money, and not everyone can really do that.

You could get back your initial investment once you got your certification. But it might take you some time before you do.

iPEC Coaching Review: Final Verdict

Let me close off this iPEC coaching review by saying some final thoughts of mine.

iPEC is an excellent training program if being a professional life coach is something that you’d like to do. Its training quality is superb, and the certifications that it gives you afterward is a nice addition to your professional coaching résumé.

You may even be able to apply to some companies like BetterUp once you’re all finished with the training programs of iPEC.

However, the biggest turn-off of iPEC’s programs is the very high price point. And to be honest, the investment may not be worth it in the long run if what you’re after is the certification.

Because I have searched for other ICF-accredited institutions. And some of them offer similar programs that iPEC does for roughly the same price of iPEC’s Life & Leadership Potentials Program.

Thus, it may be in your best interests to find some cheaper alternatives that may offer roughly the same quality of training as iPEC does.

Besides, to be honest, not everyone has the aptitude to be a professional coach, no matter what. If you’re one of those persons, then you’re better off finding a better business opportunity that could potentially be more meaningful to you, yet can still give you a high enough income to quit your 9-5 job.

Fortunately, I know of an opportunity that you can try. If you want to know more about it, keep on reading beyond this iPEC coaching review.
