What is eCom Elites?
eCom Elites is an online course about dropshipping designed by Franklin Hatchett. Unlike other courses which focus on teaching you about theories, this course has a different approach. You will be learning through examples.
Franklin started his dropshipping business as early as 2009, meaning that he preceded a lot of business owners. Instead of just spoon-feeding you with guidelines of what you need to do, Franklin’s approach is different.
Even though he got into dropshipping earlier than most people, he does not act like he is the one who made the business model popular. In fact, according to him, dropshipping has been around since 2004, before he even decided to adapt the business model.
Basically, Franklin is saying that dropshipping is not just a fad. It is here to stay.
With that in mind, what can this course help you with, then?
You need not worry about the extent of the topics, as I promise you that it will be a lot. Franklin covers every aspect of the dropshipping business, meaning that you will be learning all that you need to know in the course.
eCom Elites Cost
I am surprised because this course is not really that expensive, apparently. There are two plans for you to choose from; the standard package and the ultimate package.
The standard package will cost you $197, while the ultimate package costs $297.
You will have access to all modules even if you only want the standard package. The ultimate package, however, comes with the following bonuses:

This is a lot cheaper than the other dropshipping courses I have reviewed so far, so I am amazed. I guess you can get your money’s worth from it.
$197 or $297 is still an investment though, and if you are pretty broke, I think it is still a lot of money. I suggest that you think if it is worth that value, and if you really are going to start a dropshipping business.
Who is Franklin Hatchett?
Franklin Hatchett is a guru who has made a fortune from his dropshipping business. He then decided to create a course in order to teach people about dropshipping and how to be successful with it just like he did.
Before he became a dropshipper, his main source of income was making websites, ranking them up, and running ads on them. Basically, his money came out primarily from ad revenue. He realized that the effort was not worth it.
Franklin wants a laptop lifestyle, where he can work wherever he wants whenever he wants to. This is when he decided to try out dropshipping, advertising his business with Facebook ads. He became successful through it.
It seems like this guy is a fan of hustle culture, which in my opinion, is quite toxic. I get the point that he is making though. He is not asking you to give up on your hobbies, but rather, to focus on what can make you financially secure.
You can always focus on hobbies later once you finally become financially successful, at least according to him. Well, I don’t know about that. Too much work will burn out anyone.

eCom Elites Overview
This section of the eCom Elites review will discuss each module individually.
The duration of the course material is around 34 hours. You will learn about the following topics in this course:
- Product research and sourcing
- Shopify store setup and optimization
- Facebook ad campaigns
- Google traffic and basic SEO
- Email marketing
- Business and sales info
Without further ado, let us discuss the modules one by one.
Welcome Video
Like the title states, the purpose of the video is to welcome you to the course. Franklin himself is the host, and he introduces himself, where he came from, and how he achieved success.
He then proceeds to state that his course is not similar to other courses in the same niche. He also assures that you will be getting your money’s worth from the course.
It is a pretty decent introductory video and it is 9 minutes long.
Module 00: eCom Introduction
You are going to be greeted by quite a bold claim of how this course is the “best moneymaking course online”. To be honest, I highly doubt that. I mean, sure, it is his opinion, but his confidence is not really going to make people believe him that easily.
Also, some courses are more in-depth and more expensive than this one. For a mere $197, I doubt that this course can be super helpful. Besides, the learning from examples will not really work for some people.
In here, Franklin reiterates that the course is for beginners who want to start an eCommerce business. Well, there we go, folks. The cat’s out of the bag.
This is a beginner course, after all. So much for being the best course online.
Anyway, if you are a beginner, then maybe you will be learning what you need from here. It will introduce you to the concept of dropshipping and how you can make it work. Some basic stuff.
Franklin also reminds you not to expect success right away. To be fair, that is the most realistic claim he made so far.
Module 01: Sourcing Products and Research
This module is focused on how you can find hot and in-demand products to sell in your store.
In this module, Franklin shows you which apps and sites he uses to find products. Just like he promised, he really does show you how to do things. No questions asked.
A deal-breaker though is that Franklin does not reveal the names of the websites and apps he used, meaning that showing you how he does the whole thing is pointless, really.
I’d prefer another course to teach you about this, as what is the point of watching a demo when you have no idea what software or website is being featured, anyway?
Module 02: Setting Up Your Shopify Store
This can easily be skipped if you already know how to make and setup and Shopify account. To be honest, the information in this module could easily be found somewhere else for free.
Franklin does not really share any techniques whatsoever, so this module can be skipped. It would be tedious to sit through a 2-hour long tutorial when you can easily find a YouTube video that could explain this to you in less than 20 minutes.
Aside from the account creation process, Franklin will also be discussing payment and shipping options, site plugins that could be helpful for you, store automation, and sales funnels. Nothing special here, folks.
Module 03 & 04: Facebook
Franklin has built his success around Facebook ads. It comes as no surprise to me that this lesson encompasses two modules in the course, as he has a lot to discuss about it.
The modules are explained in detail and it is about how you can use Facebook to generate sales and website traffic.
The topics included here are about setting up Facebook Advertising accounts, available advertising methods, reaching your target audience, creating ads and reading your campaign data, and scaling your ad campaigns.
Like I said before, this module is pretty comprehensive. I am sure that you probably only know the basics of advertising, so I suggest that you take your time going through these modules.
Module 05: Instagram
Instagram is owned by Facebook, and is one of the major social media sites out there. Most courses focus on Facebook marketing only and not Instagram. Franklin, however, shows you the ropes of how marketing here works.
This module will teach you how to use Instagram to drive traffic to your site, how to find the right influencers to help you advertise, running ads the proper way in the site, and scheduling your Instagram posts.
Module 06: Organic Google Traffic (SEO)
Other courses do not really cover this topic, too. Most courses focus on social media advertising, but not on organic traffic. Well, organic traffic is free!
Franklin will show you how to drive organic traffic to your store. To be honest, this module is a bummer, as it is quite short. I think this is more fitting to be in a whole course in itself, as it comprises of a lot of topics.
I am not sure if you can learn how to do this just by watching this module, so I suggest you do your extra research on organic traffic. To be fair though, you need not look anywhere, as you can find the best method here.
Module 07: Email Marketing
Franklin shows you how email marketing works and how you can get more sales using it. It includes designing your very own landing page, optimizing your email to let it run autopilot, and getting leads by using coupons.
You will also learn about Franklin’s experience with email marketing and what not to do. I suggest that you absorb whatever you can from this module, as it can save you a lot of time once you have launched your business.
Module 08: Business and Sales
This module is pretty self-explanatory. It will show you how to properly run your business, from increasing your scales, upscaling it with the help of VAs, and setting your very own business goals.
Franklin will give you a quick overview of how he runs his business and discuss some taxation laws. He lives in New Zealand, so taxation laws could be different for you.
Remember that it is your responsibility to pay taxes, so it is good to know how much you need to pay and when you need to settle your payments. It is what a law-abiding citizen should do.
Module 09: Top Secret Videos
These are a collection of videos covering some topics that will help you improve sales for your websites.
You will be learning things like how warranties and coupons work, how to use review sites to get ahead of your competitors, and how you can effectively spy on your competitors.
To be honest, these topics are not really covered much in other courses. I am glad that Franklin included these ones, as they really can help you have an edge towards what you are going against.
Module 10: Update Module Ongoing Videos
Take note that the videos featured in the course modules are mostly made in 2017. Some techniques and methods have already been phased out and not considered effective anymore.
It made sense for Franklin to release an updated version, as the internet is constantly evolving. Marketing is also evolving at a rapid phase, especially online marketing.
This means that your techniques to get ahead of your competition should also be updated so that you do not get left out. This module can help you with that.
The module contains updated methods which could help you with tackling the latest trends. Also, if you decide to pay for the course, you have unlimited access to future updates.
Module 11: Video Request
This module is dedicated to requests sent to Franklin. You can also send a request to him, if you like. This module contains videos about individual issues that need more clarification.
I am surprised that you can actually ask him and he himself would grant your request. It gives the course a more personal touch, and it seems like Franklin really wants to help you out as much as he could.
Module 12: Weekly Videos
This module contains Q&A sessions between Franklin and his students. The videos included contain a wide range of topics. Basically, Franklin hosts weekly calls where you can talk to him and ask your questions.
Take note that if you need answers to your concerns, I do not recommend going through these videos. They are just supplementary, after all. It is easier to navigate the modules instead and look there.
However, the weekly calls offer some good insights and updated information, so you can view them if you want.
Dropshipping Explained
Before you go further in this eCom Elites review, I suggest you read this section entirely.
You’re may be thinking that this business is the ideal one for you now that you know what this course will teach you. Also, because you’ll only be dropshipping, you won’t have to make a product from scratch.
Manufacturing your own items is extremely expensive, as it entails paying for both manufacturing and warehouse costs. You can’t accomplish that unless you have tens of thousands, if not millions, of dollars on hand (depending on the items you plan to be making).
Fortunately, I will be giving you an overview of dropshipping in this part of the eCom Elites review.
Dropshipping is an easy concept to grasp. Basically, you search for items on AliExpress, negotiate with the seller to have them shipped to you, post the products on your eCommerce site, and utilize social media advertisements to promote the listings and your store.

Why I Don’t Recommend Dropshipping
This section of the eCom Elites review is dedicated to the reasons why I do not recommend the business model.
High Financial Risk
You’d have to pay for a lot of stuff before even getting started. Even if your company is entirely online, you will need to invest some funds to get started.
Even if you don’t have to pay for inventory, you still have to pay for things like domain hosting, software subscriptions, website widgets, and themes, among other things. These must be paid in advance, before you can even think about setting up your eCommerce store.
If you want your brand to stand out, you’ll have to spend a lot of money on advertisements. You may even pay influencers to promote your company on their behalf. Depending on who you want to promote for you, the costs vary.
These fees will be paid on a monthly basis, so if you want to be able to afford to keep paying them, you’ll have to work hard to persuade consumers to purchase from you.
Very Little Quality Control
Because you can’t actually inspect the items your customers will receive, you can’t provide them with the finest customer service.
You are also not made aware of your supplier’s production processes, so you have no way of knowing whether or not they are taking advantage of you.
Keep in mind, even if there is no one else to blame, your supplier might deny making any faults. You have no choice except to reimburse your clients in this case, which is bad for the reputation of your website.
Ads are Expensive
You must run advertisements in order for people to recognize your brand. Social media is the greatest place to accomplish this because millions of people use it every day. That’s millions of people who could become consumers.
However, the more individuals that you want to view your ad, the more expensive it will be. You must run more advertisements than your competitors if you want to keep ahead of them.
Essentially, you’re battling it out with the power of money. In the end, the one who cannot afford to keep up loses. It’s also more difficult to keep up with the competition if you offer items from in-demand niches.
Ad prices rise every year due to strong demand, which is bad for small businesses.

Comprehensive Course
This course is quite comprehensive, and I’m amazed with how much information it provides on the dropshipping business strategy. You’ll learn all you need to know about starting a dropshipping business, including how to set up your store, find in-demand items, and create successful advertisements.
Cheaper than Other Courses
As you are still undecided with your business, then I suppose that you would not want to spend so much money straight away, especially for a beginner course.
Well, you are in luck, as this course is not that expensive. I think it is worth the money. If you can afford it, then go for it. Otherwise, look for free resources available online.
What I Dislike in eCom Elites
Unnecessary Topics
Sure, the course is comprehensive, but to me, it feels very long for a beginner course. I don’t think it is worth the time sitting through 30 hours worth of material just for a newbie course.
It seems like some topics are stretched too much to the point that they’ll break, and that’s not good. The course length shouldn’t matter; the content and quality does.
Risky Business Model
I’ve gone over this in length in the previous sections, but I’ll say it again: this is a very risky business strategy.
You have no control over the product quality that your consumers will receive. Aside from that, the market is very saturated, with thousands of people flooding the market.
Yes, it worked for Franklin, but there is no guarantee that it will be effective for you.
Final Verdict – eCom Elites
Before I end this eCom Elites Lifestyle review, I would like to share a few more insights that could help you.
Now that you have finished reading this eCom Elites review, I’m confident you’ve learned something new about how the business model works.
You may believe that starting a dropshipping business is less difficult than creating your own items from scratch, but it is actually pretty complex. It comes with a lot of risks.
Keep in mind that you will have no control over the items that are sent to clients. Just hope they’re happy with their purchase and don’t post negative feedback.
Even if you don’t make any sales, you’ll still have to cover a lot of overhead expenditures, such as domain hosting, advertising, and VA wages (if you plan to hire some).
I don’t suggest dropshipping as a side business in general. It will consume a significant amount of your time, defeating the point of being referred to be a “side” hustle.
What I suggest to you, on the other hand, is something you can learn in a short amount of time. It’s not difficult to learn, and you won’t have to invest a lot of money to get started. The next section has more information about this.
