Today we will be reviewing a company called Essential Bodywear. Is Essential Bodywear a pyramid scheme or scam? Find out in this Essential Bodywear MLM review.
I do not doubt that you haven’t heard of this company before. The reason why no one talks about it is because, well, it is a pretty obscure company. You would not learn about Essential Bodywear until a hunbot messages you about them.
A company that pays you “full-time income for part-time work” sounds great, and too good to be true. That’s because it is. Job postings like these are undoubtedly MLMs.
You should not be surprised if you haven’t heard of Essential Bodywear before. MLMs do not do advertising. Even if they do, it is extremely rare. Well, why is that?
MLMs put the burden of advertising on their members. That is why hunbots exist. A hunbot’s job is to message people in social media and annoy them to sell their products. A hunbot also advertises their products in social media using copy-and-paste captions and ridiculous claims.
As sad as it sounds, MLMs have successfully infiltrated social media. Getting rid of them is pointless, like chopping off a hydra’s head.
Before we go further in this Essential Bodywear MLM review, I will define two terms first: MLM and pyramid scheme.
MLM members make money by selling products and recruiting new members. In pyramid schemes, members could make money by recruiting people. Pyramid schemes are illegal.
As a disclaimer, I am not affiliated with Essential Bodywear in any way.
Hopefully this Essential Bodywear MLM review can help you decide whether you want to sign up for the company or not.

What is Essential Bodywear?
Essential Bodywear is a multi-level marketing company that sells women’s underwear. Basically, the company is founded to make shopping for women’s underwear “fun and easy”. Apparently, the company views shopping for underwear as a “major bummer”, whatever that means.

The company was founded by Carrie Charlick and Marcia Negiro in 2003. As with typical MLMs, Essential Bodywear’s products can only be bought from the company’s distributors. You can be a distributor by signing up to be one.
I don’t know about this one… Seems like a typical company selling underwear to me. I don’t think they stand out.
You can learn more about the money making opportunity that the company advertises by watching this video.
The company is currently based in Michigan, United States.
How Do MLMs Work?
Welcome to the section where I talk about why MLMs are a cancer in our society, why you should not buy from them, and why you should save yourself the hassle of joining them.
Today, we will be talking about how good MLMs are at lying and making ridiculous claims.
If you are new to this website, then let me give you a brief introduction to this section. In this section, we take a break from talking about the specific company in the review, and focus on MLMs in general. Now, back to the topic.
It isn’t surprising how much MLMs overprice their products, in hopes that people would see that expensive products = premium products. However, the truth is very far compared to what they boast.
Most MLM products I know of do nothing to stand out. In reality, their products are standard in quality. The only difference is that they make ridiculous claims in order to convince people that their products are superior compared to their non-MLM competitors.
To be honest, most MLM products I know of are worse versions of products that already exist. It seems like MLMs are good at making good, ergonomic products seem like cheap knockoffs. Do not even bother purchasing from them. You’re better off buying from small businesses instead.
I cannot really recall any MLM products that have stood out to me. All of them are just worse versions of stuff that have already been perfected by other companies. Not to mention that these companies do not really need to lie or make false claims about their products; they let the products speak for themselves.
Bottom line is, stop supporting greedy MLMs and support small businesses instead.
Is Essential Bodywear a Pyramid Scheme?
Since Essential Bodywearmembers earn money both by selling services and recruiting new members, then it is safe to say that Essential Bodywear is not a pyramid scheme.
However, since Essential Bodywear is still an MLM, do not expect to make money if you have no plans on recruiting people. Recruiting will earn you significantly more money than actual product selling, and is more encouraged.
This just makes Essential Bodywear look like a pyramid scheme in disguise, doesn’t it?

Like Matilda Jane, Cabi, and La Señorita Jolie, Essential Bodywear is not a pyramid scheme.
Is Essential Bodywear a Scam?
No, Essential Bodywear is not a scam.
However, this is not enough basis that should convince you straight away to sign up for the company. Your standards should be higher than that.
I suggest doing further research on MLMs by looking for third-party sources like this Essential Bodywear MLM review.. Third-party sources are in no way affiliated with the company, so the information you get from them are totally unbiased.
Another good source of information to take note of are forums, since these forums are constantly updated with new information. Users freely interact there as well, so there are people you can ask.
Testimonials from ex-members can also help you gauge if the company is worth investing it or not. These testimonials reveal how the company is run and if they treat their members fairly.
How to Make Money from Essential Bodywear
Since Essential Bodywear is an MLM, there are only two major ways to make money with the company. and these are:
- Selling products
- Recruiting members
Another way to make money with MLMs is by getting bonuses and benefits. However, being able to qualify to those is easier said than done.
For one, you would need to build a downline. That involves recruiting people in the business. You will earn commissions just for bringing new people in.
If you want to experience the passive income that the company promises, you will have to keep recruiting on a weekly basis.
Remember that the MLM business model is not sustainable, so as time goes by, you will run out of people to recruit.
MLMs do not really care about how many products you sell. What they care about is how many you buy and how many people you can bring in.
This is sounding more and more like a pyramid scheme, doesn’t it?
How to Join Essential Bodywear

Like the Basic Kit, it also includes business and training tools you need to start your business.

The prices of the products range from $50 to $100 per piece.
Things I Like in Essential Bodywear
Established Company
Essential Bodywear has been around since 2003. Impressive, since most MLMs do not even live to see three years. This means that the company is being managed properly.
MLM companies usually do not last long because of how unsustainable the business model is.
I guess Essential Bodywear has done a great job of getting a loyal customer base.
Low Startup Cost
I am actually quite surprised that the starter kits are not so expensive. Sure, $499 is still a lot of money, but you are getting a lot of product with it. Even the $199 kit is not so bad.
I guess this means that you could easily earn back your investment.
Low Sales Quota Required
Unlike most MLMs that require members to meet a monthly sales quota to remain active, Essential Bodywear require members to sell $750 in a three-month period. Even I am surprised by this.
No Need to Carry Inventory
I am also surprised by this so I had to read it again. Yes, Essential Bodywear does not require you to carry any inventory (except for the starter kit you purchased). All you need is the Cupz Fitting system and the Fit Kit samples that you have to use to measure your clients.
Other than that, your clients’ orders are shipped directly from the Essential Bodywear HQ. Convenient, right?
Things I Dislike in Essential Bodywear
Above Average Price Point
The price range of Essential Bodywear’s products are $50-$100. That is quite expensive compared to underwear being sold in malls by non-MLM brands.
This is not good for you if you plan to join because it would making selling the products difficult.
Saturated Market
Despite all the good things I can say about the company, it seems that we cannot run away from this truth.
Even though the company’s policies seem to favor their distributors, Essential Bodywear is still a company that exists along with millions of other companies that sells women’s underwear.
People do not really trust MLMs so much, so they will still choose other brands. Besides, underwear is readily available in all department stores.
It is an MLM
This is an MLM, so it means that a lot of people definitely failed in this venture. In fact, 99% of people who join MLMs fail to make money, and they do not even earn back their initial investment.
Essential Bodywear Compensation Plan
I could not seem to find the proper document for Essential Bodywear’s compensation plan. The only data I managed to find is that your can earn 25-37% in retail commissions, which is pretty high for an MLM.
I could not seem to find if there are any ranks or bonuses you can earn with this company.
You can watch this video to learn more about the business aspect, though.

Final Verdict – Essential Bodywear
Before I end this Essential Bodywear MLM review, I would like to share a few more thoughts with you.
Remember that people want value for their money. Also, people already have their trusted brands in mind. It is not easy to convince people to try something new when what they have already works for them.
That is the fatal flaw of Essential Bodywear. Sure, it is pro-consultant, but the pricing of their products is quite high compared to competition that exists in every department store.
Products in malls are readily accessible. People can come and buy them, end of story. In MLMs, people have to wait until they get their orders. A lot of people simply do not have the patience for that.
Why would you buy something from an MLM that is readily available in most places anyway? It just does not make sense, right?
You cannot possibly compete against big companies who do a far better job on marketing.
That’s it for my Essential Bodywear MLM review. Hopefully this Essential Bodywear MLM review helps with your decision.
