It’s possible that you’ve heard of Greg Mercer, who is trying to sell you on his course called Freedom Builder Bootcamp. If so, you might be interested in Amazon FBA.

However, due to the fact that there are a great number of phony gurus operating in the market today, there are instances when it is difficult to determine whether or not Greg is one of the con artists.

I did some in-depth research to see whether or not his program is worth the investment you’re considering making in it.

  • Niche: Amazon FBA
  • Recommended?: Amazon FBA can be pretty profitable. On the other hand, there is a lot of competition in the platform now. Instead of starting a business by selling on Amazon, I think my top recommendation is a lot more profitable for you, as it has worked for a lot of people already.

Who is Greg Mercer?

Freedom Builder Bootcamp Review - Greg Mercer

Jungle Scout is a provider of Amazon FBA tools and resources, and Greg Mercer serves as both the CEO and creator of the company.

After receiving a degree in civil engineering, he moved on to work as a corporate civil engineer in Pensacola, Florida, after moving there after beginning his career.

Greg, who was growing weary with the same routine from 9 to 5, began spending each evening doing research on potential goods that he could sell on Amazon.

Greg made his first transaction in 2013, and he gradually increased his revenue to the point where it equaled his salary from his employment.

He began developing a Chrome extension that would enable him to organize and display the available product information from Amazon in order to make the process of researching products easier on himself. This helped him save time.

Because of this, the first edition of the Jungle Scout Chrome extension was released in the year 2015.

Today, Jungle Scout is a well-established organization that provides prospective Amazon FBA merchants with a wide variety of tools as well as instruction on a variety of related topics.

This program resembles Amazon FBA Ninja, Just One Dime, and Seller Pro Academy.

Why I Don’t Recommend Amazon FBA

Huge upfront cost required

A minimum of $15,000 to $20,000 is required to start an Amazon business.

It’s also not possible to get started without first investing in an FBA course like Million Dollar Golden Formula, which may be a significant financial burden for beginners.

Product samples and stock, labeling and shipping expenses, product launch services/pay-per-click advertising, and Amazon Marketing Services all require financial investment. You’ll soon go through your initial $10,000 in stock if you want to sell through the Amazon marketplace.

To sum it up: it’s expensive and takes a lot of time. Your hard-earned cash is at stake, so give it some serious thought before you act.

Complex business model

A lot of work goes into getting a product listing up and optimized, even if Amazon performs a lot of the work for you.

In addition, you have to cope with a plethora of mundane, dry duties every day. You’ll need to comply with Amazon’s and local governments’ rules, as well as those of your own country and its individual states and municipalities, as well as negotiate with suppliers and evaluate shipping providers and freight forwarders.

Sophie suggested hiring a team of virtual assistants, but in truth, most VAs are inept and may cause a great deal of difficulty.

The method is too complex for those who are just starting out and are seeking for a way to make some extra money on the side with no effort.

Earning takes some time

Profits in the form of cash are essential to the survival of any enterprise. However, most sellers in the Amazon FBA model must invest much in purchasing stocks from Chinese suppliers.

The price tag can go up significantly if you need a custom private label made. Creating a prototype, for instance, typically costs a few hundred dollars at a Chinese manufacturer. You can always get a quote on Alibaba if you don’t believe me.

Depending on the items involved and the amount ordered, production time might range from one to two months. After that, it takes another two weeks for shipping and customs processing until it finally reaches an Amazon fulfillment center.

According to this method, you may have to wait as long as a few months to get payment for the goods you purchased.

Price wars is tough

Amazon is a hotbed of price competition. When one vendor lowers prices in an effort to drum up business, others soon follow suit.

If you’re making a loss on each sale, you may need to lower your product prices. When this happens, quality drops, consumers are unhappy, and business suffers.

There is a lot of competition, and you also have to deal with things like shifting sales tax legislation, category limits, and Amazon’s own standards.

If you accidentally break some restrictions, Amazon may permanently ban your account.
