Freemote Bootcamp Review: Aaron Jack Scam?

Today we will be reviewing a program known as Freemote Bootcamp. Is Freemote Bootcamp legit? Find out in this Freemote Bootcamp review.

The world has become a tumultuous place. New variants of the virus continued to emerge, implying that humanity would eventually have to learn to live with it for quite a long time.

Of course, that is a difficult fact to embrace. We were living our normal lives just two years ago, believing that the virus would eventually die. We’ve been proven incorrect time and time again.

At this time, the world’s future appears to be rather unclear. Many industries have seen a slowdown as a result of government-imposed limitations. Many individuals have lost their employment as a result of this.

People have begun to be concerned about whether or not they will be able to maintain their employment as a result of these events. The epidemic shows no indications of slowing down, so their fears are well-founded.

This is why, in order to augment their income, many people decide to start side hustles.

What brought you here is the prospect of making some money on the side. Luckily for you, I did my research, so I’ll be able to tell you whether this program can help you find your way to financial freedom.

Before you decide to commit to this program, you should read this Freemote review first. You should check if it is worth your time before you pay for it.

What is Freemote?

Freemote Bootcamp Review - Freemote intro

Freemote is a program which promises that it can teach you how to build a successful Shopify business. Its main difference from other programs is that it also teaches topics such as web development and some coding.

Just like most eCommerce programs I have reviewed before, the focus of this one is on Shopify. After all, it is the most popular eCommerce platform.

What’s more, the pandemic has brought a lot of customers to eCommerce platforms, as shoppers have found internet shopping a more practical option.

Who is Aaron Jack and Jan Frey?

Freemote Bootcamp Review - Freemote owners

Freemote is created and owned by Aaron Jack and Jan Frey. After spending some time researching them both, I wasn’t really able to uncover a lot of information about both of them.

Aaron said that he learned coding online, and he even got a job on Uber as a web developer.

He also runs a YouTube channel, where he posts videos about coding. As of writing, it has more than 200k subscribers already.

On the other hand, Jan has experience with working on Shopify agencies.

Freemote Bootcamp Overview

For this part of the Freemote Bootcamp review, I will giving you some brief descriptions regarding the lessons you will be taught.

The primary focus of this program is eCommerce, but on the side, you will also be learning about web development and coding. This means that you can learn how to design your very own website.

Freemote includes 190 lessons, as well as 30 hours worth of training over the course of 7 weeks. It aims to help you get your own eCommerce site in a span of a short time.

I will be giving you a quick glimpse into what each week of training entails.

1st Week: HTML and CSS

The first one will consist of 5 hours worth of lessons that covers both HTML and CSS. Beginner and advanced lessons are available for both topics.

After all, these two make up the most basic topics when it comes to web design and development.

2nd Week: Shopify Platform

For this week, you will be learning all about Shopify. Like I previously stated, Shopify is the biggest and most popular eCommerce platform which most people and companies use for their business.

3rd Week: Basic Shopify Development

You will learn how to develop you very own eCommerce website for this week. It introduces you to concepts such as themes you can use for customization.

4th Week: Freelancing Skills and Strategy

For this week, the focus moves away from coding. This time, you will be learning about how you can land freelance gigs.

You will be taught how to build your portfolio, how to land gigs on Upwork, how to do networking, and how to communicate with your client to negotiate contracts.

5th Week: Javascript Mechanics

This week focuses on programming using Javascript. It is a little more advanced than the topics tackled on the previous week.

6th Week: Advanced Javascript and Web Development

You will learn about more advanced topics in both Javascript and web development for this week.

7th Week: Advanced Shopify Development

This week includes some advanced lessons regarding how you can build your Shopify store.

Pricing

Freemote will cost you $1,659 to enroll.

To be fair though, a typical training program about coding will definitely cost you more than $20k. However, what Freemote will be teaching you are mostly just basics, meaning that most of these information can be learned for free using online sources.

On the other hand though, if you feel like getting a gig as a Shopify developer, then maybe the program can work for you. Don’t expect to earn as much as you expect though.

However, I just do not see people wanting to pay that much for a course when information on it can easily be picked up online.

Is Freemote a Scam?

In this section of the Freemote Bootcamp review, I will be answering your main question, and here it is: the course is definitely not a scam.

I guess that people who are behind it are pretty competent enough, as they are both experienced in coding and in Shopify. Also, there is money to be made from freelance coding, if you want to do it as a side hustle.

Also, coding is a pretty valuable skill. The world has been transitioning to digital faster than we thought, meaning that there a lot of jobs waiting for those knowing how to code. The world simply cannot cater to everyone’s digital needs, which is why coders are wanted.

Coding is pretty difficult to learn all by yourself though. If you ask me, then I suggest you invest in a college degree in computer science if you want to master the skill.

After all, a college degree can help you land a better, stable job. You can also demand to be paid more because you have the credentials.

Coding can make you some decent money. However, it is a skill that will take you quite a long time to learn and master.

Is Coding a Good Side Hustle?

Freelance coding

To be honest, I am not really that knowledgeable in coding. I have taken a few courses related to it in university, but other than that, I am not really required to learn about it since that’s not my field of study.

What I know about it though is that the concepts get more and more complicated as you go along. HTML and CSS can be learned pretty easily, but Javascript can be quite difficult to grasp if you do not have a basic grasp on what you are doing.

If you are serious about wanting to learn how to code, then it is a lot better if you invest on a college degree instead. You can also find some online courses that specialize on coding alone.

Coding takes years to master, meaning that before you can even consider it as a side hustle right now, you are already years behind in experience. If you want a six-figure income from it, then I suggest you start learning today.

Does Freemote Work?

I think Freemote can do its job of teaching you how to code for your Shopify store. If you want to build a Shopify store and save on costs, then I think this course can help you learn how to develop your very own site.

On the other hand though, this course tries to teach both about coding and starting a Shopify business. I don’t think it does both effectively, which is quite a bummer. It’s a pretty mediocre course.

What’s more, the information in here can be found for free in different online sources. Freemote teaches only the basics anyway, so it can be hard to justify paying thousands.

On the other hand, Freemote does not really focus on important things such as driving traffic to your site, advertising, and promoting on social media. It is only focused on the technical side.

I think Freemote can work, but I don’t see why you should pick this compared to online sources that can be found for free.

Pros and Cons of Freemote

Pros

  • If you want to learn about how to code and develop your very own Shopify eCommerce store, then this course can definitely teach you how to do that.
  • You can probably apply what you have learned from this course to other avenues that involves eCommerce and coding.
  • Compared to other coding courses, Freemote is particularly cheaper.
  • You get a 30-day refund policy for the course, meaning that you have quite a long time to test if it is the program suited to your needs.

Cons

  • This course is simply not enough to help you land gigs that can make you some decent profit.
  • It only consists of basic lessons, and most of them can be learned for free using various resources available on the internet.
  • Coding can be pretty challenging to learn for yourself, which means that the course is definitely not enough to help you master it.

Alternatives to Freemote

Freemote is a pretty good course which can teach you the basics of both Shopify and coding. It is a mix of both, meaning that you will learning about the technical side and the selling side in regards to the Shopify platform.

Coding can make you some decent money, but the information from this course can be found in the internet, seeing how basic they are. If you want to be a professional coder, then it’s better to invest money on a better program that is focused on coding alone.

If you want to build an eCommerce store, then I suggest focusing on the entrepreneurial side. I suggest looking into programs such as Ecom Capital, 0-100K System, and Low Hanging System.

Final Verdict – Freemote

Before I end this Freemote Bootcamp review, I would like to share a few more insights that could help you.

Freemote can teach you how to build an eCommerce site, but it doesn’t really focus on important things, such as driving traffic to your site and finding the best products for you to sell.

It is a course focused more on the technical side of Shopify. To be honest, I am more invested in the selling side, as you can easily hire people to take care of these technical things. After all, even if you manage to complete this course, it does not guarantee that things will go as smoothly as you hoped.

Like I previously stated, coding is not something you can pick up and expect to master in a month or two. It requires a lot of time and patience, and can take years to master.

If you want a side hustle that you can easily pick up, then maybe coding is not what you should be looking at. There are better alternatives out there which you can master easily.

In fact, I can suggest a good side hustle which you pick up right now. It isn’t as complicated as coding, and you need not invest a hefty amount on it. For more details about this, then continue reading.
