Today we will be reviewing a company called Initial Outfitters. Is Initial Outfitters a scam? Find out in this Initial Outfitters Review.
You probably have no idea what an MLM is until that hunbot who is a member of Initial Outfitters reached out to you. I cannot blame you though, because that is simply what an MLM is. They are a company that is deliberately obscure, and they use this as an effective marketing tactic for their products.
To be honest, there is nothing wrong with obscure companies. Most of the biggest and most successful companies used to be obscure too. However, an MLM is a whole different type of business. You will learn more about MLMs, not only about Initial Outfitters as you read this review further.
I will be giving you the background of Initial Outfitters, information regarding the company’s products, and tell you how much you can potentially earn if you are planning to join the company. However, I suggest that you lower your expectations, as some details that I will be revealing will be pretty shocking.
I am glad that you decided to consult this Initial Outfitters review first before making a decision. Sit back, relax, and let me do the talking, then.
MLM members make money by selling products and recruiting new members. In pyramid schemes, members could only make money by recruiting people. Pyramid schemes are illegal and banned by the FTC.
As a disclaimer, I am not affiliated with Initial Outfitters in any way.
Hopefully this Initial Outfitters review can help you decide whether you want to sign up for the company or not.

What is Initial Outfitters?
Initial Outfitters is a multi-level marketing company on the fashion niche. It was founded by Jim and Alicia Storbeck, along with Beth Reeves, in 2006.
The Storbecks used to work as marketing researchers for famous brands like Hallmark. Jim currently owns another company, which operates in the residential and commercial industry.
Alicia used to own a company named Heartspring Enterprises. Beth Reeves used to work with her there as a production manager.
The company is currently based in the United States, specifically in Alabama.
Initial Outfitters Products
Initial Outfitters sells products divided into the following categories:
- Face Masks
- Mask Sprays
How Do MLMs Work?
Like I mentioned earlier, MLMs are very different compared to regular businesses. They employ a different business tactic. The reason why they are pretty obscure is because their business thrives on the idea of exclusivity. As you can observe, people love the idea of being part of a select group. It boosts their ego. This is human behavior, basically.
MLMs cash in the idea by encouraging recruitment. In fact, in an MLM, you earn significantly more money if you decide to recruit more than sell the products. This is just against the whole idea of building your own business, though. I mean, what even are the products for if you would not sell them?
MLMs are also master manipulators. They know exactly what people want to hear, and they use their gullibility to their advantage. They operate like a cult, in a way. MLMs want their members to fully depend on them, and they want the members to recruit their family and friends as much as possible.
They want to establish control by promising you with things that will be difficult to say no to. This can come in the form of cash advances or vehicle loans. Basically, they know what you need, and they are willing to give it to you just so they can get their loyalty. It is pretty scummy.
Because a lot of people are being manipulated like this, they find it hard to leave the company. This makes them an easier target. Most of the time, people who join MLMs find it difficult to leave even though the opportunity is not working anymore.
If that doesn’t sound like a cult to you, then I do not know what does.
Is Initial Outfitters a Pyramid Scheme?
Since Initial Outfitters members earn money both by selling services and recruiting new members, then it is safe to say that Initial Outfitters is not a pyramid scheme.
However, since Initial Outfitters is still an MLM, do not expect to make money if you have no plans on recruiting people. Recruiting will earn you significantly more money than actual product selling, and is more encouraged.
This just makes Initial Outfitters look like a pyramid scheme in disguise, doesn’t it?
Is Initial Outfitters a Scam?
No, Initial Outfitters is not a scam.
However, if you think this is enough for you to jump in Initial Outfitters’ so-called opportunity straight away, then I suggest that you hold your horses. This is just the most basic thing, so don’t go signing up for this company right away.
Before making your decision, I suggest that you do a thorough research on the MLM first. You can consult some of the sources I listed below. Take note that you can definitely consult any source you want to, but the sources I listed below are the best kinds to consult, for various reasons listed.
What Sources Should You Look For?
There are three kinds of sources that you can consult when it comes to researching MLMs. There are other kinds of sources, but I believe that these two sources will be of the most help to you.
The best source for you to consult are third-party reviews, just like this Initial Outfitters review. This is because review like this are pretty in-depth, and they take hours of research to be completed. It is actually impressive how you were able to find this review by yourself, but it is great that you are reading it now.
This review is also independent of any bias or influence from the MLMs they write about. Basically, they are free to write anything in the review, be it negative things that can put the company in a not-so-nice light. As long as they publish the truth, they are a great source to consult.
Third-party review may be great, but they are still not perfect. There are still some concerns that they cannot answer, especially the more specific kinds of concerns that you may have. This means that you should not consult only one source, if possible.
This is when you should go look around at online forums. These forums talk about MLMs in different discussions, and what’s more, every discussion is fairly moderated. You have to adhere to certain rules before being allowed to post in forums, which makes them quite professional.
Forums are also huge databases of information. The information in there are properly organized. What’s more, the members are also pretty approachable and friendly. Surely, they can answer your concerns better than reviews can.BONUS : My #1 Recommendation To Make Money Online In 2021(Free Guide)>>
How to Make Money from Initial Outfitters
Since Initial Outfitters is an MLM, there are only two ways to make money with the company. and these are:
- Selling products
- Recruiting members
Just like a typical MLM, Initial Outfitters offers quite a lot of benefits and bonuses to those who sign up for their MLM opportunity. This is a great way to boost income. Let me explain the two main methods real quick, as I am sure that the hunbot who messaged you did not even explain it properly.
The selling aspect is quite easy and simple to understand. You buy products at a discount for being a member, then sell it for retail prices which are set by the company. The difference becomes your profit. It might sound easy, but finding customers is a whole other challenge. You need to find a target market.
As for the recruiting aspect, this is where majority of your income will come from. You are eligible to get commissions from every sale made by your members. This means that the more members you get to recruit, the more money you can possibly make.
Remember that the MLM business model is not sustainable, so as time goes by, you will run out of people to recruit.
MLMs do not really care about how many products you sell. What they care about is how many you buy and how many people you can bring in.
How Much Can You Make?
Initial Outfitters does not publish a proper income disclosure statement. To be honest, I expected this already, but it still does not change the fact that MLMs will rather hide the truth than be transparent towards their members. It is kind of sad, really.
Here they are promising their members an opportunity “better than a regular job”, but they have no data to properly back up those claims. Like I said before, MLMs are masters in deception. Also, if you try to ask them something, they love deflecting questions.
There are some reports where MLM members were called upon by their upline while they were merely asking questions. They were told that they are spreading negativity, and that instead of being so inquisitive, they should just trust the MLM completely.
What kind of management style is that? People have the right to know the truth. They should not be reprimanded for asking questions.
Things I Like in Initial Outfitters
Initial Outfitters has been in the business for more than 10 years. This makes them a pretty experienced and established company, so I guess they could be trusted. Most MLMs do not even last three years, so being able to outlive that average lifespan is already impressive.
The company is partnered with charities, and that is a good selling point. People are more likely to buy something if they think that their purchase is helping out somebody. Initial Outfitters also launch campaigns where 100% of sales of selected products are donated to charity.
Things I Dislike in Initial Outfitters
The fashion market is pretty competitive, because more and more people are buying clothes. Some people do so for retail therapy, while some like posting clothes they buy in social media. This is why more and more clothing brands are coming out.
People are less likely to buy from MLM brands because they are less well-known.
High Sales Quotas
To qualify for commissions, you would have to meet a sales quota of $500 per month. That is pretty ridiculous, considering how obscure the brand is. Remember that you are competing with brand who properly advertise their products.
I don’t think that quota is reachable unless you buy some products for yourself.
It is an MLM
This is an MLM, so it means that a lot of people definitely failed in this venture. In fact, 99% of people who join MLMs fail to make money, and they do not even earn back their initial investment.
