Job Killing Review: Is Ippei And Dan’s Course A Scam?

Today, we’re going to talk about Job Killing, an online course by Ippei Kanehara and Dan Kleitz. Is this worth trying? Find out in this Job Killing review.

Make no mistake. There’s nothing wrong with doing the 9-5 daily grind at work. But most people may come to realize that in the long run, it’s not going to work for them.

After all, most people don’t really care how big the salary they’re taking in. If in exchange, they’re sacrificing their health and well-being.

What most people prefer is a moneymaking opportunity that offers decent pay, yet still allows them to take control of their time.

Thus, it’s not a surprise that the term “making money online” is one of the most trending terms recently. Especially with the current pandemic situation.

Job Killing is one of those moneymaking opportunities that’s making rounds right now. You may have heard about this course regularly as it’s being heavily promoted around.

The course was rightfully named because it claims to deliver an opportunity that lets you comfortably leave your current day job and STILL earn money through this method.

But is this the right opportunity for you? Can Job Killing be the answer to your financial freedom goals?

This Job Killing review will break it down for you. So that can effectively decide if you want to join this course or not.

DISCLAIMER: This is an independent Job Killing review. I’m not affiliated with Bad Ass Marketers, in any way or form whatsoever.

What Is Job Killing?

Coronavirus Jobless Poster

Job Killing is an online course that teaches users an opportunity to make money online. As this is technically an online business, such opportunities can be done from just about anywhere, even from the comforts of your home.

The business model they’re going to teach you is “lead generation” using the “rank-and-rent”. It may sound confusing for some, but it’s quite simple, really.

The idea is that you generate leads (or in other words, potential customers).

But unlike other lead generation methods wherein you learn how to manage Facebook ads and SEO for other businesses’ websites…

This course will teach you the “Rank-And-Rent” method of lead generation. Which, in a nutshell, is basically you making a simple website, let it rank on Google Search according to the relevant keywords, and then “sell” the leads you get to small and local businesses.

You can make money for this because business owners (especially small ones) are willing to pay you for marketing their business. And it’s because of a few important reasons

  • Business owners don’t know much about how to market themselves.
  • And even if they do, they simply won’t have the time to prepare the needed marketing materials. Instead, they would be focusing on running the business itself.

However, there’s a good reason why 61% of marketers point out that lead generation is one of their biggest challenges. And that’s because, SEO is technically like going to war.

You’re going to have to compete with other lead generation businesses using the same method. This is for getting that sweet No. 1 spot on the relevant keyword.

The People Behind Job Killing

Job Killing was conceptualized in 2014 by Dan Klein and Brad Campbell.

Job Killing - Dan Klein And Brad Campbell

These two are already quite established as digital entrepreneurs and digital marketers before this course were made. Dan Klein is the chief brains behind this, but he brought on Brad Campbell to help on promoting this course.

But most of you are probably more familiar with what can I only say, is the face behind Job Killing.

Ippei Kanehara

Ippei Kanehara

If anything, you probably have known about this course due to his extensive promotion of this. After all, he’s considered one of Dan’s top students in this program.

I won’t cover much about Ippei Kanehara, as I already told things about him in a past review. If you want to see it for yourself, you can click the link below.

The Business Model Behind Job Killing

As previously stated, the main idea behind the Job Killing online course is that it teaches students how they can set up a lead generation business, by using “digital real estate (i.e. your website).

The entire process can be broken down into a few steps.

  1. Choose A Niche
  2. Build A Website
  3. Choose A Keyword, & Achieve Rank 1 On Search Engine Results Pages (SERP) Using SEO
  4. Collect Your Leads & Sell Them To Your Client

At first glance, it does sound easy. But it’s not all that it seems to be.

The first two steps of choosing a niche and building your own website are easy enough. The hard part (and the most important part) is getting your website to rank first on search engines so that you ACTUALLY collect the leads.

For this reason, Job Killing places the importance of teaching students effective SEO methods for their websites. Some of the SEO methods that they teach in this course include…

  • Effective SEO Content Creation
  • Creating Private Blog Networks
  • Intentional Backlink Outreach

Aside from SEO skills, here you’ll also learn how you can pitch your website to small businesses (usually within your area).

The only thing that they left out here is the hard work that you’re going to pour into this business model. In fact, some say that it may take you at least three months or more, before your website starts ranking up and you’re able to sell your services to clients.

Unless…

  1. You use some blackhat or gray hat SEO methods (which is always very risky and should not be recommended).
  2. You use paid ads of any sort.

As my mentor would say to me, “SEO is war”. And it’s rightfully so because EVERYONE is vying for that 1st rank in SERP.

Job Killing: Pricing & Inclusions

As with most online courses of its nature, the cost for joining Dan Klein’s Job Killing online course isn’t initially shown, even on any of its sales pages. It’s only revealed to you when you booked a call to join.

But according to various sources that I found, mostly from its former students, it costs around $4,860 to $8,778 to join this course. It may even go as high as $15,000 on some offers.

And for that price, here’s what you’ll be getting.

  • Comprehensive Video & Audio Training That Totals 30+ Hours
  • A So-Called “Lead Generation Blueprint” (Local Online Marketing From A-Z)
  • Exclusive Use Of Their Customized Call-Tracking Software (With “Phone Whisper” Technology)
  • Automated Prospecting System
  • Guides & Strategies On How To Close Deals (Includes
  • Email and Phone Scripts)
  • Drag & Drop Website Builder
  • Private Facebook Group Access
  • 2 Weekly Live Training Calls with Q & A sessions with Dan Himself
  • 1-on-1 Support From A Senior Member
  • Training Updates

Of course, this is just for the online course itself. In order to ACTUALLY set up your lead generation business, you also need to consider the costs of these resources that you’ll need.

  • Website & Domain Hosting
  • Additional Call Trackers (the one provided by the course is quite limited)
  • Email Autoresponders
  • P.O. Box Cost
  • Keyword Research Software (some are free, but others can cost quite a bit)
  • Cost For Paid Ads (Optional)

In fact, the total cost of this course is almost equivalent to the cost of all of the things that you need to set up your lead generation business. Thus, it might be worth it to invest that $4,000-$15,000 on those tools instead of this course.

Pros & Cons Of Job Killing

Pros

  • Lead generation is a legitimate business model to make money online.
  • With enough work, you can potentially earn a good amount of passive income with this
  • The skills that you can learn from this course can also be applied to any kind of business, especially if it’s marketing-related
  • It also teaches SEO, which, in my own opinion, is one of the basic lessons that one should learn in online marketing
  • You’re technically building an asset
  • The mentors and affiliates of this program are all legitimate.

Cons

  • There’s too much hard work involved to get to the point where you can actually earn money from this business model.
  • Costs are hidden in plain sight. It’s only revealed when you book a call with them.
  • It could actually take a very long time before you could even profit from this.
  • Some of the SEO techniques being taught here fall under the category of blackhat or gray hat SEO. Which means your websites may run the risk of having their ranks dramatically drop.

My Own Thoughts On Job Killing

I already said this before, and I’m going to say this again.

Lead generation in general is a worthwhile business model. Lead generation through digital asset renting is not worth the trouble.

If you think that having your website rank first on Google SERP is a one-time job, then prepare to be gravely mistaken.

Even when you’re dealing with local businesses, your fellow internet marketers will also be vying for that rank for that particular keyword. So expect that the competition will be very stiff.

As I said previously, “SEO is war”. If you even just take it easy for one moment, you’ll immediately lose your rank. And possibly all that leads you worked for.

It’s not uncommon for someone in the lead generation business to be creating quite a lot of content on an almost daily basis just to keep their ranks up.

And not to mention the time element. Even with all the hard work, it would still take such a long time before you can actually start making money from it. And an even longer time before you realize your profits and cover the costs of your investment.

Also, one thing to note is that Dan Klein’s Job Killing course isn’t the only one using lead generation via a digital asset business model. There are several others who use the same approach. For example, Joshua T. Osborne’s Bad Ass MarketersDouglas James’ courses, and others.

Alternatives To The Business Model Provided By Job Killing?

Instead of creating a website for lead generation, which is more expensive and doesn’t really generate effective passive income in most cases…

You may opt to try lead generation using Google ads and Facebook ads.

While they’re still a needed initial investment, it’s not going to be as expensive as the previous one. Furthermore, this one has a greater potential for you to earn literal passive income with little effort.

Job Killing Review: Final Thoughts

Before I end this Job Killing review, I would like to share a few more insights that might help you decide.

If you notice, most of the promoters of any of these online courses always start off by flexing some of their belongings. They usually involve, a high-end car, a big house, the freedom to travel to different parts of the world, etc.

What’s even more interesting is that, they all make it sound so easy. They always claim that they will help you achieve what they have, if you join their business model.

In my own opinion, they’re only half-truths. Yes. It’s possible to become rich by doing a lead generation business (or any online business for this matter). But it’s not going to be that easy.

For this reason, I would just leave you with this.

If you think Dan Klein’s lead generation business model taught by his Job Killing course is something that’s in tune with what you want to do, then you can join him if you like. Just remember that it’s not going to be as easy as what they wants you to think.

Personally, I won’t recommend this course. There’s no denying it’s legitimacy, though.

But with the huge amount of investment that you’ll need, along with the fact that it’s going to take you a very long time and intense work to be able to profit from this, the trouble isn’t certainly worth it.

If you want to get started on a lead generation business, there’s something here that I can offer you that’s, in my opinion, much easier to do, and with less hassle.
