JR Watkins MLM Review: Is This MLM Your Key to Success?

JR Watkins MLM Review: Is This MLM Your Key to Success?

Today we will be reviewing a company called JR Watkins. Is JR Watkins a scam? Find out in this JR Watkins MLM Review.

You are probably just chilling in your home one day when you got a message from someone, who is apparently one of your friends in social media. They were saying things about being able to earn more money than your current job, taking full control of your hours, and other stuff like that. I mean, of course you will be interested in that, right?

Due to the global state of affairs, everyone is pretty much on edge. Everyone is thinking about a lot of uncertainties. People are losing their jobs, and most of them have no savings to fall back on. That is quite scary, but it is now reality. This is why people are looking for ways to make extra money.

MLMs seemed to adapt to the sudden shift to online transactions as well. To be honest, now that the world is facing a global pandemic, it seemed like I was able to see a lot more MLM content in social media. Of course that is not something to be happy about, as that meant that they are being predatory to vulnerable people.

You will learn more about JR Watkins and MLMs as we proceed in this JR Watkins MLM review, so I suggest that you sit back, relax, and prepare to learn.

Before we go further in this JR Watkins MLM review, I will define two terms first: MLM and pyramid scheme.

MLM members make money by selling products and recruiting new members. In pyramid schemes, members could only make money by recruiting people. Pyramid schemes are illegal and banned by the FTC.

As a disclaimer, I am not affiliated with JR Watkins MLM in any way.

Hopefully this JR Watkins MLM review can help you decide whether you want to sign up for the company or not.

What is JR Watkins?

JR Watkins MLM Review - JR Watkins intro

JR Watkins is a multi-level marketing company that sells personal care products, and also a variety of products for the home. These include home essentials and kitchen products. The company was founded in 1868 by Joseph Ray Watkins, making it one of the oldest MLMs that are still in operation to this day.

Just like a typical MLM company, they have an affiliate program with which you can sign up on and get started earning money by selling the company’s products. That sounds good at first glance, but it gets pretty complicated once you are already in. I will be elaborating on this on a later section.

JR Watkins MLM Review - JR Watkins product

JR Watkins’ main selling point is that they use natural plant-based ingredients in their products. Well, that sounds nice and all, but most of the personal care MLMs I have reviewed do the same thing. Looks like we found another company who thinks they are being unique, when they aren’t.

How Do MLMs Work?

This section is dedicated to explaining to you just how these companies operate. Unfortunately, this is not really common knowledge, so a lot of people continue to fall for these companies that have ridiculous business practices. The things I know regarding them are fruits of my research, so to speak.

I have reviewed hundreds of MLMs already, so I figured that I might as well share what I know to people who simply do not have time to go through a lot of resources. Also, reading a few hundred words is a lot more pleasant than having to go through a lot of search results, wondering which material would be useful.

To be honest, what I immediately think of when someone mentions “MLM” is a cult. Unfortunately, that is exactly what these companies are. They are cults made up of greedy businessmen who do not want to earn money the proper way. Let me elaborate on that.

For one, most MLMs I have encountered push recruiting a lot. To be honest, yes, you can make money in an MLM by selling products. The problem with that though is that MLMs seem to make it as hard as possible to sell the products, as they focus on the recruiting aspect more.

Recruiting sounds very shady, and indeed it is. You have to reach out to people who may be interested with the company, then lure them in with promises so that they sign up. If you are irritated with groups that do this and door-to-door salesmen, well, that is basically what you are doing.

Is JR Watkins a Pyramid Scheme?

Since JR Watkins members earn money both by selling services and recruiting new members, then it is safe to say that JR Watkins is not a pyramid scheme.

However, since JR Watkins is still an MLM, do not expect to make money if you have no plans on recruiting people. Recruiting will earn you significantly more money than actual product selling, and is more encouraged.

This just makes JR Watkins look like a pyramid scheme in disguise, doesn’t it?

Like BeneYou, Gourmet Cupboard, and New U Life, JR Watkins is not a pyramid scheme.

Is JR Watkins a Scam?

No, JR Watkins is not a scam.

However, if you think this is enough for you to jump in JR Watkins’ so-called opportunity straight away, then I suggest that you hold your horses. This is just the most basic thing, so don’t go signing up for this company right away.

Before making your decision, I suggest that you do a thorough research on the MLM first. You can consult some of the sources I listed below. Take note that you can definitely consult any source you want to, but the sources I listed below are the best kinds to consult, for various reasons listed.

How to Make Money from JR Watkins

Since JR Watkins is an MLM, there are only two ways to make money with the company. and these are:

  • Selling products
  • Recruiting members

Of course there are a lot of methods that are listed in JR Watkins’ compensation plan, but remember that these two methods above are the ones that the compensation plan boils down to anyway.

Selling is pretty straightforward. Basically, one of the benefits you get by signing up for an MLM is that you can avail their products for discounted wholesale prices. You are then able to sell them at retail prices set by the company, and whatever the difference is will be your profit.

The method that they push though is recruiting. This involves having to reach out to people regularly in hopes that they will sign up for the company. This task is a lot more tedious than selling. However, hard work does pay off. For every member you recruit, you are entitled to commissions every time they make a sale.

Remember that the MLM business model is not sustainable, so as time goes by, you will run out of people to recruit.

MLMs do not really care about how many products you sell. What they care about is how many you buy and how many people you can bring in.

How Much Can You Make?

This is the primary concern you have, right? Well, in a few more moments you will finally have your question answered, except…

Well, I do not really have the answer. I did look for it as best as I could, and I used up majority of my efforts in looking for it, too. The problem does not lie with me though, as it lies within JR Watkins itself. The only source that could answer this question should come from the company itself, but it looks like they do not want to answer it.

I have experienced this time and time again with most MLMs I have reviewed in this website. I look for answers about their income disclosure statements, but most of the time, I come back with a big fat nothing. To be fair, I know that they have the answer to this question, but they just do not want to tell people.

The reason for that is because it will endanger their reputation. MLMs know that people who join them do not make any money. Telling people that fact simply would not help their cause, because their business is to recruit. It isn’t really appealing to join a company that says that you have a 1% chance of succeeding in it, right?

Also, no law sanctions MLMs from hiding income disclosure statements. There should be one, though. People need to be protected from these entities who only wish to get their hands on their hard-earned money.

Things I Like in JR Watkins

Established Company

In my opinion, this company is more than established. It has proven that it is a force to be reckoned with at this point. The fact that it has been in business for more than a century means that they have good products, and that they have a loyal customer base that spans generations.

Not all MLMs can do that, by the way. That is an impressive feat for a company that sells personal care products.

Positive Product Reviews

Well, I would not be surprised to know about this one. After all, for a company to be in business for this long means that they are definitely on the right track. It seems like this company adapted well to changes in modern society. Their products were not left behind at all.

Things I Dislike in JR Watkins

Expensive Products

This is the downside to JR Watkins’ products. Well, they are an MLM, after all, so I expected their prices to be higher than average. However, with the current global situation, I do not think that it is wise for a company that sells non-essential products to give their products a high price.

Right now, people are trying to budget their money as much as they can. Not many see personal care products as necessities, so of course they will opt to buy from those brands with more reasonable prices.

Competitive Niche

JR Watkins is not the first MLM I have encountered that sells personal care products. In fact, I have come across a lot of them that I already lost count. A lot of MLM and non-MLM companies compete in the personal care niche. This is why I am surprised to see JR Watkins still standing.

Also, a lot of people are not really willing to try out MLM products, as they know of the bad reputation of these companies. They opt to buy from trusted brands, which are conveniently available in online stores and malls. This does not look good for a company who only sells products through a few distributors.

It is an MLM

This is an MLM, so it means that a lot of people definitely failed in this venture. In fact, 99% of people who join MLMs fail to make money, and they do not even earn back their initial investment.

Final Verdict – JR Watkins

Before I end this JR Watkins MLM review, I would like to share a few more insights that could help you.

When it comes to MLMs, I think I have already given you enough reason to not join any of them. They are all the same, basically. The only difference is the products they sell. MLM companies are just renamed versions of each other. The business model is the same, the compensation plan is the same, etc.

My top concern is that most people who join MLMs seem to have no idea what they just signed up for. I cannot blame them for thinking that way. There is no system currently in place to protect them. This is why these greedy companies continue to prey on them.

There are measures in play that prohibit operations by pyramid schemes, but why aren’t there any for MLMs? Let’s face it, MLMs are just glorified pyramid schemes that sell products in order to look legal. A lot of lawsuits were filed against MLM companies already.

That aside, I am sure that you would not want to join a company that makes you recruit again and again, right? Well, I have a better opportunity for you right in the next section. I suggest you check it out. I am sure that it will be a lot better than an MLM too.

That’s it for my JR Watkins MLM review. Hopefully this JR Watkins MLM review helps with your decision.
