Life Coach School is a program that can teach you how you can become a life coach. It is dedicated to helping you start a career in the self-help industry. The founder is Brooke Castillo.
There is actually more than one course included in Life Coach School. First, there is the self-help program. The other one is a course dedicated to teaching you how to be a life coach.
We will be looking at the latter in this review. That is not free, by the way. It costs around $21,000. Yes, you read that right.
That program is 3 months long, and is delivered using modules.
Who is Brooke Castillo?
Brooke Castillo is the founder of Life Coach School, and she has been running it for 15 years now. It seems like her business generates millions in revenue every year.
What made her inspired to be a life coach is the time when she was diagnosed with depression. It seems like her life coach helped her get through that difficult stage in her life, and she wanted to help other people overcome it by becoming one herself.
It looks like Brooke has achieved success, and unlike other gurus I found in the internet, she seemed to have proven something already.
Is Brooke Castillo Legit?
I don’t think Brooke is a scammer, at least in my own opinion. She seems to really have found success in her venture as a life coach.
Her courses also seem comprehensive, meaning that she really knows how the industry operates.
My only issue with her is that she priced her programs way too high, to the point that they are ridiculous. There is also no guarantee that you can succeed or not by taking her courses, and judging by the price, you should at least be assured of some things.
Being a life coach is also another career path, meaning that it would not be easy to start from scratch if you already have a full-time career. Clients are also pretty hard to get.

What is Inside Life Coach School?
Inside Life Coach School are courses, modules, training materials, and other resources that can help you start with your career as a life coach. I will be explaining the contents in this part of the Life Coach School review.
Life Coach Curriculum Overview
The curriculum for this program consists of seven parts. In this section of the Life Coach School review, I will explain what each part entails.
1. Mastery of the Model
The model is abbreviated as CTFAR, which stands for Circumstances, Thoughts, Feelings, Actions, and Results. The training states that mastering this model will help you with solving any problems you may have.
Basically, that model will be the one you will be using once you are already taking clients.
2. Emotional Childhood/Adulthood
This part is all about taking control of your emotions. Just like the first part, it will also give you a lesson as to how you can help your clients to do this.
3. The Manual
This part is presented as a manual, and will be teaching about about how to develop and foster new relationships. You will also be learning how to properly identify unhealthy patterns from relationships.
4. Outcome and Goal Cultivation
You will learn how you can help your clients with setting their goals in this section. Of course, you will also be taught how to help your clients achieve their goals.
5. Belief System Navigation
This module is dedication to assisting your clients with developing new beliefs, as well as helping them achieve their goals as they do so.
6. Past/Future Focus Techniques
In this part, you will be helping your clients with focusing in the present, instead of dwelling in their past. This means that you can then help them achieve a better future.
7. Unconditional Love
Just like what the title states, this section will help you with teaching how to feel love to your clients.
Overeating and Overdrinking Curriculum
Most of the time, people use drinking and eats as a way to cope with their problems, like anxiety and depression. Actually, you can expect a lot of your future clients to be experiencing mental health problems, so this course can help you with how to deal with them.
Expect to learn these topics from this course:
- Roles of hormones and neurotransmitters
- Feeling emotions
- Managing urges
- Managing setbacks
- Intermittent fasting
- Gaining control and discipline
- And many more.
Certification
In order to get certified, you are required to do a live practice session with your instructor. You also need to submit recordings that show how you coach your clients.
Lastly, you need to pass an exam.
Monthly Calls
Those who get their certification as a life coach with the help of the program can participate in a monthly group call. You can use these calls to your advantage by learning from others, and by asking questions to matters you find a bit difficult to deal with on your own.
Mastermind and Business Workshop
These are live events which you can also participate it. You can make use of these events in order to do networking and to get more important knowledge.
The Entrepreneur Training
This training is dedicated to helping you build a profitable business as a life coach. It can also help you create an effective marketing plan.
These are included in the training:
- Guides and videos regarding entrepreneurship
- Self-paced curriculum focusing on developing a program, setting up offers, and entertaining clients
- Training about how to make good offers that clients cannot refuse
- Writing emails that could convert into offers
Life Coach School Costs
The self-help program will cost you $297 per month. It is a subscription-bases, meaning that you have to keep paying if you want access to content. You are looking at a bill of more than $3,000 per year if you want to keep subscribed.
Actually, I don’t see the need to subscribe to a program that costs that much. There are free resources in the internet that you can consult, and I bet that they will teach you the same things.
If you are feeling fancy, then maybe you can pick up a book about self-help for less than $30 and learn from there. No need to subscribe to a $297 per month program, and at least you keep the book.
On the other hand, the certification program will cost you $21,000. It is way too much money for a three-month program.
Actually, these costs are way too high that it got me thinking. How sure are you that you can make a profit once you become a life coach, anyway?

The Dark Truth About the Self-Help Industry
You have probably known some internet gurus already. These people are often found in YouTube and Instagram, where they parade their success and encourage others to follow them to do the same.
In fact, the self-help industry has become pretty lucrative because of this mentality. These gurus know their way into manipulating people into thinking that they can be as successful as them, and all they had to have is charisma.
These gurus make their money by selling books and courses, and also by getting their followers to pay money and subscribe to some program where they promise them that they will succeed in life by doing so.
I think the self-help industry has been invaded by opportunists who only want fame and attention. In fact, when I tried to watch a live conference of some gurus, I found nothing useful with what they were saying.
All they say are things that people already know, like being motivated and working hard. I mean, don’t we already know that? The people who follow them, however, just eat up whatever they say.
That bothers me a lot, because these people think that they have the gurus to thank for “showing them the way”, when in fact, they already know what these gurus tell them.
Another thing I noticed with these gurus is that they encourage cult-like behavior. It’s too obvious that it becomes laughable how they manipulate struggling people into giving them money just by saying some lines that we already know of.
Because of this, I would not recommend that you follow any of them.

Why I Don’t Recommend Life Coach School
Expensive Courses
I’m pretty sure that you noticed this already too. The courses offered are way too expensive. The self-help program, which you can find for free in online resources and YouTube videos, will cost you around $300 every month. That’s insane, considering how you can easily get free content with a few searches.
Also, they want to charge you $21,000 to be certified. For a mere three-month program, that is way too much money. Not to mention that they don’t even guarantee that you will succeed as a life coach after this.
Poor Refund Policy
I am surprised that there is actually a refund policy, as it is not really properly stated in the website. In fact, what I had to do is to dig through the terms and conditions.
Turns out that you only have 7 days to request a refund. I am not so confident with that, as you are spending a lot of money. You should be entitled to a longer refund window, in my opinion.
Success Isn’t Guaranteed
You might be thinking that chucking $21,000 to be a certified life coach is a great career move, considering how much money is required for you in order to be a certified life coach.
Well, let me tell you right now that you are making the wrong move. Being a life coach is simply not a good way to make money, unless you have connections.
It is also not easy to look for clients, as people are more likely to approach psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, and members of the clergy when they have problems. In my defense though, at least that is how I see things.
Final Verdict – Life Coach School
Before I end this Life Coach School review, I would like to share a few more insights that could help you.
Judging by how expensive the courses are, I am not sure that this is a good program for you. You shouldn’t pay that much money to start a side hustle.
Even if you get certified, that does not guarantee that you will be getting clients regularly. Your main goal should be about making money in regular intervals.
Also, take note that being a life coach requires charm, and not all people are born with it. You also need to have empathy for your clients so you can properly assist them with their problems.
I don’t think this is the right side hustle, as it requires a lot of time and money. You need something that is easy to learn and does not cost much to start.
Actually, I know of the best opportunity you can start right now. It is easy to learn and master, and it does not require having to learn complicated skills. Aside from that, I can guarantee that it works!
