PartyLite Review: Should You Join This MLM?

PartyLite Review: Should You Join This MLM?

Today we will be reviewing a company called PartyLite. Is PartyLite a scam? Find out in this PartyLite review.

You probably have not heard about PartyLite before until you encountered that hunbot in social media. I assume that whoever they are, they just messaged you out of the blue. That message is probably long and winded, but it boils down to one simple thing: they are promising you a so-called “great opportunity”.

With the way things are right now, with the pandemic and all, I assume that all of us have experienced stress and anxiety. The prices of commodities keep rising with every passing day.

That aside, this means that we are all looking for a way to boost our current income. This is completely valid though, because even though prices keep rising, wage remains the same. MLMs take advantage of this by saying that the opportunity they are willing to grant to you is a guaranteed way to success.

I know that we are all going through something, but you should not let a stranger’s word sway you that easily. If something sounds too good to be true, then it definitely isn’t.

Before we go further in this PartyLite review, I will define two terms first: MLM and pyramid scheme.

MLM members make money by selling products and recruiting new members. In pyramid schemes, members could only make money by recruiting people. Pyramid schemes are illegal and banned by the FTC.

As a disclaimer, I am not affiliated with PartyLite in any way.

Hopefully this PartyLite review can help you decide whether you want to sign up for the company or not.

PartyLite Review - PartyLite intro

How Do MLMs Work?

Let’s take a break from talking about PartyLite for now. This section is dedicated to talking about MLMs in general, and will help you learn more about how MLMs really operate. Basically, all MLMs are the same, with the only difference between them being how they brand their products.

Before I share my knowledge, let me reiterate my stance about MLMs first. I think that MLMs are the worst, and other opportunities are much better then joining one.

If you are thinking that joining an MLM would bring your better and more steady income than your current job, then I suggest that you scrap the idea of joining one. You think that hunbot who reached out to you makes more money than you? Wrong.

However, it sure is tempting to be able to choose your own work hours. After all, who even likes having to wake up early in the morning and having to endure traffic just to get to work? If you choose your own hours, you are free to do as you please whenever you want to.

MLMs do not pay their members wages for all their hard work. Their pay is on a commission basis, which means that even if you work extra hard, you do not get paid if you do not make a sale.

Before you can even begin with this process, you would have to pay a fee to start selling the products the MLM offers. You also need to buy your own inventory before you can begin selling. Basically, every business practice that MLMs have in place is favorable only to themselves but not for their members.

Joining an MLM is basically a leap of faith, which means that most of the time, it doesn’t work out.

Is PartyLite a Pyramid Scheme?

Since PartyLite members earn money both by selling services and recruiting new members, then it is safe to say that Justine is not a pyramid scheme.

However, since PartyLite is still an MLM, do not expect to make money if you have no plans on recruiting people. Recruiting will earn you significantly more money than actual product selling, and is more encouraged.

This just makes PartyLite look like a pyramid scheme in disguise, doesn’t it?

Pyramid scheme vs Multi-level marketing

Like NuVerus, Modere, and Justine, PartyLite is not a pyramid scheme.

Is PartyLite a Scam?

No, PartyLite is not a scam.

However, if you think this is enough for you to jump in PartyLite’s so-called opportunity straight away, then I suggest that you hold your horses. This is just the most basic thing, so don’t go signing up for this company right away.

Before making your decision, I suggest that you do a thorough research on the MLM first. You can consult some of the sources I listed below. Take note that you can definitely consult any source you want to, but the sources I listed below are the best kinds to consult, for various reasons listed.

What Sources Should You Look For?

There are three kinds of sources that you can consult when it comes to researching MLMs. There are other kinds of sources, but I believe that these three sources will be of the most help to you.

First off, you are quite lucky to have found the best source available to consult online. This PartyLite review is an example of a third-party reviews. Like what the name states, third-party reviews are made by entities that are in no way affiliated with the companies they write about. This means that they get their facts only through research.

Third-party reviews publish information that are backed by facts through research. This means that they are in no way biased. They publish information as long as it is factual, and even if they hurt the MLM’s reputation, they are not liable for it.

You also have the option to look for forums online which discuss MLMs. It is quite easy to find active forums, as they are the top results if you look for them in search engines. A quick visit to an active forum reveals quite a lot of fresh information, so you can be assured that you get the most recent piece of information with every visit.

Those forum members are actually doing a great job of compiling information in one place. Other than that, they are also willing to answer questions and inquiries about MLM companies. Their goal is to educate people about MLMs, which I can say is pretty helpful.

How to Make Money from PartyLite

Since PartyLite is an MLM, there are two basic ways to make money with the company. and these are:

  1. Selling products
  2. Recruiting members

Take into consideration that these methods are only the most basic ways which can help you get earnings in PartyLite. You can also avail bonuses and benefits, however, there aren’t really bonuses available for you to qualify for if you have no intentions of recruiting new members to the company. You can learn more about these benefits in the compensation plan section of the PartyLite review.

To be able to qualify for bonuses, you will need to build a downline. If this is your first time reading about an MLM, then I guess I need to explain this to you. A downline is basically a team that is directly under you. Basically, these people are those who you personally recruited to the MLM.

Why is this important, you ask? Well, I did mention that in MLMs, you get paid on a commission basis. I also mentioned that you need to order products first before you can sell them. For every order that is placed by your downline, you get commissions. This is why recruiting is heavily encouraged here.

Remember that the MLM business model is not sustainable, so as time goes by, you will run out of people to recruit.

MLMs do not really care about how many products you sell. What they care about is how many you buy and how many people you can bring in.

PartyLite Products

PartyLite Review - PartyLite products

PartyLite sells the following kinds of products:

  • candles
  • incense sticks
  • essential oils
  • home fragrance
  • home decorations

How Much Can You Make?

Looks like we found another one, folks. PartyLite is another MLM that doesn’t publish an income disclosure statement. I did try to find one from the past, but it seems like I cannot really find something that does not exist in the first place.

I don’t really get why MLMs do this sort of thing. Isn’t their motto to help their members become successful? Then why do they need to hide important information from them? I am sure that you are thinking that I might just be nitpicking, but the importance of an income disclosure statement should not be underestimated.

This piece of information contains data that tells potential members how much they can make once they decide to join the company. They are entitled to know this, especially because they are paying to join. They need transparency before getting into something like this.

Also, isn’t it fair to educate your members about what they are getting into before you sign them up? To be honest, most MLMs I know of just let their members blindly learn the ropes on the way.

Things I Like in PartyLite

Established Company

This company has been around since 1973, which means that they have been in business for almost 5 decades now. They have also been making candles ever since.

This means that PartyLite has more than enough qualifications and experience to be classified as one of the top companies in the candle business. Also, even though there are quite a lot of companies selling the same products, they still managed to stay in business.

The average lifespan of an MLM is three years, and the company was able to last much, much longer than that. This just proves that they already have a hold in the market.

Things I Dislike in PartyLite

Expensive Products

The problem with this company is that their products are expensive compared to their non-MLM competitors. Take note that ordering from this company is a much more complicated process than going to a mall and buying scented candles from there.

Also, why would you pay a higher price and wait weeks for your candles to arrive when you can go to a mall and just buy from there? It’s not like candles are a necessary commodity, anyway.

Products are Hard to Sell

I doubt that you know anyone who collects scented candles or use candles on a daily basis. This is why this company will not appeal to ordinary people. The main thing that makes MLMs profitable is repeat purchases. People who buy candles do not really have to make repeat purchases regularly.

From what I can observe, people buy scented candles once, then take months or even years to make another purchase. That doesn’t really help your case once you join this MLM because you are required to meet sales quotas.

It is an MLM

This is an MLM, so it means that a lot of people definitely failed in this venture. In fact, 99% of people who join MLMs fail to make money, and they do not even earn back their initial investment.

PartyLite has quite a complicated compensation plan. I believe that this video can help explain the compensation plan better than me.
