Today, we’re going to talk about Paul Xavier’s 14 Day Filmmaker. Is this a good program to join? Find out in this 14 Day Filmmaker review.
First of all, let me commend you for doing your due diligence first before you invest your money in this program.
As you may already know, there are several different opportunities out there claiming to help individuals earn a lot of money, especially online. And they all come in various forms.
Some of them come in the form of a program that requires you to promote their products and earn commissions. But most of them come in the form of online courses that teaches you a new skill you can use to earn money.
Unfortunately, the legitimacy claims of these opportunities can always vary.
Some of them are proven to be legit. A few of them are just scams in disguise. Still, others may very well be legitimate, but they don’t work well according to what you want to do.
That’s why, before you spend your hard-earned money to join any of these opportunities, it’s of utmost importance that you do plenty of research first. So that you can decide for yourself if the opportunity offered is something that you’d like to do, or not.
And this is what this 14 Day Filmmaker review aims to do. Hopefully, this review can help you out with that important decision of yours.
As a disclaimer, this is a fully unbiased 14 Day Filmmaker review, based solely on my own observation and honest opinion. Furthermore, you won’t find any affiliate links about this product here, as I’m not affiliated with 14 Day Filmmaker and its creators at all.

14 Day Filmmaker Review: Quick Details
- Name: 14 Day Filmmaker
- Website: https://mrpaulxavier.com/14-day-filmmaker/
- Type: Online Training Course
- Niche: Videography, Photography
- Owner: Paul Xavier & Anthony Gallo
- Price: $48 (Plus upsells)
- Recommended?: This is actually a course that you must have if you’re planning to earn money by producing good photo or video content. Such as when you want to be a content creator on various platforms like YouTube, etc. However, you still need to learn how to market your content, be it videos or photos, in order for you to earn money with it. Which, obviously, isn’t really covered a lot in here.
14 Day Filmmaker: Detailed Overview

14 Day Filmmaker is, as the name suggests, is an online educational course about filmmaking.
It doesn’t just teach you how to take and create videos from your camera. It teaches you everything you need to learn on how to make those videos very professional, and eye-catching.
This means you’ll learn everything about how to set up your video equipment properly, some camera techniques, and even some video editing techniques. Basically, you’ll be taught every step of video production, from pre-production, principal photography, to post-production.
All within a span of 14 days.
The entirety of online training is, of course, dedicated to filmmaking. But some of the lessons here can also be applied to professional photography as well.
14 Day Filmmaker is a great online course to take if you want to take professional-looking videos for any reason. Of course, it’s a necessary skill if you want to create video content of your own for any reason, like when you want to be a “YouTuber“.
Creating your own video content is just one part of it, however. The other important part is how you can make money from those videos.
Unfortunately, there’s not much marketing training that you can get from this online course. But this is a bit forgivable as this is not the point of this course, after all.
While there is some marketing training here, such as the use of paid ads, it’s not really that comprehensive as other specialized training programs.
Therefore, it becomes apparent that you’re going to need a separate online course for you to learn how you can market yourself, if you want to succeed as a YouTuber. Simply relying on this course isn’t going to be enough for most.

Who Created The 14 Day Filmmaker?
The 14 Day Filmmaker online course is created by Paul Xavier and Anthony Gallo.
Paul Xavier

Anthony Gallo

Aside from being the creators of this online course, there really isn’t much to tell about them. Just like you and me, both of these individuals first started working on 9-5 jobs in order to make ends meet.
And like most financial gurus out there, they were the ones who decided to get out of that rat race, struggled a lot with their decision, but eventually overcame all the odds and now have achieved financial success with their lives.
Despite their lack of credentials or awards of anything, they seem to be pretty legitimate mentors. As they claim to specialize in creating video content and paid Facebook ads, they seem to have plenty of expertise in this area.
One thing that you can notice from their social media pages is that, unlike other gurus, they don’t really sell their fancy lifestyle much. Both of them claim to be millionaires in their own right, but you’re not going to notice it much, based on how they present themselves on social media.
True to their specialty, Paul Xavier also has his own YouTube channel with over 22.6k subscribers. Which, to be honest, isn’t really a lot compared to others (especially since his specialty is creating and marketing video content), but credible enough.

What Can You Get From The 14 Day Filmmaker?
As what the course title says, the aim of 14 Day Filmmaker is to teach you almost everything you need to know about fillmmaking and creating video content.
In a span of 14 days, you’ll be able to create for yourself any kind of video content that is high-quality and professional-looking.
What I like about the lessons presented here is that, at the end of each, you’ll then be given a one-hour exercise that’ll allow you to practice everything that you’ve learned during that day.
Here are the lessons that you can expect from the 14 days of learning from this online couse.
Day 1: Fundamentals, Gear, & Camera Settings
The first day will focus on setting up the gear that you’ll need for filmmaking.
Always keep in mind that the most expensive video camera doesn’t necessarily mean the best there is. As long as it can meet the basic settings you need, even a lower-priced camera can produce great content when you know the proper technique.
As a certain saying goes, “It’s not in the gear that makes something good. It’s in the user.”

Day 2: Focal Length & Lenses
This can be seen as an extension of the first day. Only this time, it focuses on the various lenses that you’ll need for a particular camera shot.
Keep in mind that in some cases, you may need to purchase several lenses for your camera in order to achieve your desired shot. Also, you should take note of the compatibility of the lens you bought with the camera gear that you have.

Day 3: Composition
The third day will teach you the proper composition that you should do when shooting your video.
This is where you’ll learn how you can achieve that “perfect shot” on certain circumstances by doing proper angles on your camera. You’ll also learn on how you can achieve proper focus on the subject you’re filming, so the audiences won’t be distracted too much while watching your film.

Day 4: Cinematic Movements
Of course, a static video is just plain boring. You’re better off taking a photograph instead.
For the fourth day, you’ll learn on how you can apply certain camera movements in order to make the audience more engaged with your video. You’ll want it to be as dynamic as possible to show some “aliveness” on your work, but you don’t want to move too fast, or else your video will suffer from “jump cuts“.
(It doesn’t exactly mean jump cuts are bad. Again, it depends on what you want to achieve on the video.)

Day 5: Lighting
Of course, proper lighting is very important when taking videos or even photographs. It’s especially true when you’re taking a video indoors.
It also doesn’t matter if you’re using a very bright light for this purpose. If you don’t get the right angle for the lights, your subject may still be covered in some shadowed areas.

Day 6: Sound Design
The sixth day will mostly focus on sound editing.
The most important factors to learn here are usually noise reduction and enhancing certain sounds, adding music, as well as sound effects.

Day 7: File Management + Intro To Editing
The seventh day now serves as an introduction to the post-production phase of creating your videos.
This part will simply focus on various tips in order to make your work process much faster, and less cluttered. This will also touch on the subject of the storage media that you should use when video editing (hard disk drives vs. solid-state drives).

Day 8: Professional Editing Walkthrough
Day 8 will focus on the various software that you can use for video editing.
This lesson focuses only on the most popular and widely-used software. You may have to make some adjustments to the lessons if you’re planning to use other video editing software.

Day 9: Intro To After Effects
As what the module title states, the ninth day is basically an introduction, as well as a tutorial, on how to use Adobe After Effects for your video.
Again, if you want to use other VFX and motion graphics software for this purpose, you may have to make some adjustments to the lessons here.

Day 10: Virtual Job Shadows
Day 10 onwards is where you now tackle directing your videos.
The tenth day is a lesson on how you can properly direct your talents when making a video commercial. This is to ensure that the effects that you’re going to edit on your video match the actions and thought of the talent on the screen.

Day 11: Scriptwriting & Using A Storyboard
Storyboarding is basically the process of using various illustrations, displayed in sequence, for the purpose of pre-visualizing basically any media, including videos.
The eleventh day focuses on the pre-production aspect of making a film. For example, making a script of the film, how to use storyboard to plan your film, etc.

Day 12: Shoot Your Commercial
The twelfth day will now teach you on what you need to take care of during the principal photography phase of your film in question. That is, from the first day of shooting, until you’ve wrapped up the shooting.
This course also gives some tips on how you can find talents to act for your film. But I think it’s still much better that you pay your talents an appropriate amount of fee for their effort. After all, getting in front of the camera can still pose a challenge.

Day 13: Edit Your Commercial
The thirteenth day will now focus on the post-production phase of your film.
This is where you’ll put into motion the things that you’ve learned about the tools and proper project management that you learned on the previous days.

Day 14: Organic Distribution
The final day of this online course is just a quick but essential lesson on how you can market your video content to your target audience. Again, this is a neccessary lesson if you want to monetize your videos, for example, by being a YouTuber.
Here, you’ll learn some quick lessons about paid Facebook traffic, effective copywriting, and other related topics.

How Much Does The 14 Day Filmmaker Cost?
The price of the entire 14 Day Filmmaker online course is just $48. However, the course also offers upsells that are reported to cost over a thousand dollars or more.
One of those upsells include exclusive access to their own private community. But are the upsells worth it? Personally, I think not.
If you just want to learn how to create your own videos, then the standalone course itself is already enough.

14 Day Filmmaker May Work For You If…
If you’re an aspiring content creator on any platform and wanted to learn how to make video content on your own, then 14 Day Filmmaker is for you. Creating your own videos is a skill you must learn, especially when you want to earn money as either a YouTuber, whether it’s by vlogging or even livestreaming of any kind.
Being a content creator is definitely one of the more popular side hustles right now when it comes to earning money online. This is even further reinforced by the fact that there are even several famous personalities today who got their breakthrough success through YouTubing.
14 Day Filmmaker May Not Work For You If…
If you’re looking to create really professional and high-quality videos for something like short films, or other projects. While Paul Xavier and Anthony Callo have proven to be experts on creating video content, they have a strong focus on creating video content for marketing needs, instead of something like short films, etc.
It’s also worth noting that, creating your own video content means you have to first invest in expensive equipment. In fact, the cheapest video camera that provides all the functions taught in this tutorial costs several times that this course already.
Not to mention the software that you’re going to use for video editing, but most especially, the high computer specs needed for editing.
Thus, unless you’re really passionate about practicing a skill about taking either photos or videos, 14 Day Filmmaker isn’t the right training course for you. And even if you are, there are several other online courses out there that may do a better job of teaching you everything you need about videography (and some of them are even free of charge.)
Pros & Cons Of 14 Day Filmmaker
Pros
- It’s one of the cheaper online courses about video shooting and editing out there.
- The quality of the training is simple, yet still quite good and direct-to-the-point. Good if you’re just planning to shoot simple and short videos for your content (ex. commercials.)
- The instructors are legitimate in the first. Thus, they know what they’re teaching, and they teach it well.
Cons
- The marketing training included here isn’t comprehensive and detailed enough. But this is forgivable as that’s not the whole point of this online course, anyway.
- You can’t get a refund when you’re not satisfied with this course.
- This online course is only good for learning how to shoot short and quick video content. If you’re looking for a more comprehensive online course about videography, and even photography, you have to look elsewhere.
- There are several free alternatives to this online course.
14 Day Filmmaker Review: Alternatives

14 Day Filmmaker is an online course that teaches you how to make video content for marketing purposes. Thus, it may not be a good choice for everyone.
If you want some alternatives to this online course that focuses on teaching proper cinematography exclusively, without all the marketing fluff, there’s the Team Deakins Podcast, Cooke Optics TV, David F. Sandberg’s personal YouTube Channel, and several others. The best part of all, most of these training materials are completely free.
As for marketing training. There are already other great alternatives that can teach you not only just marketing, but also teaches you how you can build your own online business that can potentially earn a lot of money.
14 Day Filmmaker Review: Final Verdict
Let me share with you some of my final thoughts before I end this 14 Day Filmmaker review.

Many would think that being a content creator and an influencer is an easy work. When in fact, it’s actually very hard to do.
You really have to put in many hours on creating content, mainly videos, in order for you to continuously earn money. This is mostly the case when you want to succeed at being a YouTuber.
But some people do have a passion for it because it’s through being a YouTuber that they’re able to do something that they love in front of the camera. And even make money out of it.
However, for you to be really earning, you have to have a huge amount of following. Thus, you need to constantly market yourself.
14 Day Filmmaker may be a good stepping stone for you if you want to pursue that idea. But it can only take you so much, and the rest still depends on your hard work and dedication.
But fortunately, being a YouTuber isn’t the only way for you to earn a good amount of income that’s even more than a full-time job. Even better, some of these opportunities can help you build a profitable online business.
Fortunately, I know of one that can give you such an opportunity. If you want to know more about it, keep on reading this 14 Day Filmmaker review.
