There is no shortage when it comes to an online course focused on investing and trading. If you would search for one randomly in whatever search engine you use, you are bound to get hundreds of results for different online courses that exist in the market. It does sometimes feel suffocating when you see all of the choices available for you. But just because there are a plethora of different online course available at your fingertips doesn’t mean that all of them are created equal.
As somebody who has written quite a number of reviews about these types of courses, I could have no trouble knowing which ones are worth the trouble. There was this one instance where somebody decided to offer their own foreign exchange trading course. But the only way that you could actually get that course is by buying points. Turns out, that whole course was actually just a front for a multi-level marketing scheme. That is what makes it hard to find the type of online course that is worth the time and money.
Because, let’s face it, a lot of these online courses are pretty expensive. It is understandable that a lot of these creators see their knowledge and expertise as something worth of value. I can’t really fault them for that. Creating your own course requires a lot of time, money and effort. And sometimes you can really see when somebody is actually interested in teaching people the fundamentals of investing and trading. Because, these creators could easily make a half-baked online course and call it a day. They could earn a decent amount of money because people didn’t really know any better.
So when I found about Piranha Profits, I was curious at how they position themselves in a pretty crowded field. Does the courses that Adam Khoo and his team offer seem better than their competition? Or is it just a lazy cash grab?

Who Is Adam Khoo?
Adam Khoo is an investor, entrepreneur and the founder of Piranha Profits, an educational platform focused on trading and investing.
From what I could gather, it was during his childhood when Adam had taken an interest in investing. His grandfather would often give his grandchildren these little red envelopes every year. Those envelopes would often contain a little bit of cash. What’s different with Adam’s grandfather compared to other grandfathers who gave out these little red envelopes, Adam’s grandfather would also include shares for Malaysian companies that he had a stock in. It’s definitely a bit of a step up from just a bit of money every year.
And every time that his grandfather gave out those little red envelopes, he would also give Adam and his fellow grandchildren a lecture. He apparently said a variation of the saying “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” But instead of fish, he used cash and company shares as a replacement. That was how the seed was planted in Adam’s mind. Apparently, his grandfather wasn’t really high up in the corporate chain at his job. But he was smart enough to invest some of his money in stock.
It wasn’t really until he was 17 years old that Adam decided to actually pursue investing. He used his mom’s brokerage account to do his first investment. The first stock that he investment in was for a flour milling company based in Malaysia. It was done largely in part of his uncle being a controlling shareholder for that company. Adam later on sold those stocks.
Even though Adam had some success very early on, he fell into into the pitfalls that a lot of other budding investors go through. He would often go through the cycle of earning money then losing money. And that happened to him for almost a decade. But it does seem that Adam managed to bounce back from that.
It was until 2005 when Adam created his first ever investing masterclass. That sort of grew over time. In 2017, he founded Piranha Profits.

What is Piranha Profits?
Piranha Profits is an online learning platform that is focused on investing and trading strategies.
There are a total of ten different video courses that Piranha Profits offers. The first two are about investing called the Value Momentum Investing course and the REIT Investing course. In the Value Momentum Investing course, you are going to learn about the fundamentals of investing in ETFs or exchange traded funds. Apparently, this course was loosely based on a strategy used by Warren Buffet wherein you invest in undervalued companies but have the potential to to increase in value sometime in the future.
There are a total of twelve lessons in the Value Momentum Investing course. You will go through each step of the process when it comes to starting your career as an investor. Surprisingly, this specific course works well with both beginners and those who have already been investing before. The cost for the Value Momentum Investing course is a one-time payment worth $1,899. There are instances where the price for it may be discounted. At the time of writing, the course is currently priced at about $1,044. You pretty much get lifetime access to the course as well as access to the exclusive discussion group. Aside from that, you also get lifetime access to a bunch of different tools like a portfolio manager and a transaction diary. Apparently, they also update certain parts of the course regularly.
Now, let’s talk about the REIT Investing course. REIT stands for real estate investment trust. It is a company that owns and operates a bunch of income-generating real estate assets. They basically use the money that is invested in them to purchase and run different real estate assets in the hopes that it generates income. It is a way for a lot of small-time investors to earn money from real estate without having to manage their own properties.
There are a total of seven main lessons and one bonus lesson in the course. It’s definitely shorter compared to Value Momentum Investing course. But there’s really a lot more that you could learn about REITs. The pricing for it reflects that. You can purchase the course with a one-time payment worth $1,388. Similar to the Value Momentum Investing course, there may be a discount that they offer. At the time of writing this, it’s priced at about $760. You still get lifetime access to the course as well as dedicated email support if you have any questions to ask Adam or his team. There are also two bonus tools included with the course.
What About The Trading Courses?
Piranha Profits offers courses for those that want to learn stock trading, options trading, foreign exchange trading and cryptocurrency trading. Compared to the investing course, some of the trading courses have two different difficult levels. One is a beginner course and the other is an intermediate/advanced course. Only the cryptocurrency course has a singular course. It is required that you finish the beginner courses before you go on to take the advanced courses.
The prices for each course varies. But all of them have almost the same inclusions as one another. There will be certain bonuses that are exclusive to those particular courses. For the stock trading courses, the beginner one is priced at $1,588 while the advanced one is priced at $4,088. The beginner and advanced stock trading courses both have a total of ten lessons.
For the option trading courses, the beginner one is priced at $1,888 while the advanced one is priced at $4,188. The beginner options trading course has a total of 12 lessons. While the advance course, on the other hand, has a total of 22 lessons. Both courses include case studies from the course mentor Bang Pham Van.
For the foreign exchange trading course, the beginner one is priced at $1,588 while the advanced one is priced at $3,888. There are a total of 10 lessons for the beginner course and a total of 7 lessons for the advanced course. Finally, the cryptocurrency trading course is priced at $1,788. It has a total of six lessons.
Aside from the online courses, Piranha Profits also offers two different premium newsletters. The first is the Ultimate Investors Playbook from founder Adam Khoo. It is an annual subscription that includes a new report every month. The cost for an annual subscription is $1,900. You get a total of 12 issues of his reports sent out to you every month. There are also bonuses included in the subscription like a channel where get buy/sell notifications from Adam Khoo.

Final Verdict – Piranha Profits Review
It definitely looks like they put a lot of effort into the courses that Piranha Profits offers. You can really see that they really want the students to learn as much as they can when it comes to investing and trading. They spent no expense to make sure that what they are offering to people is well worth the money.
That being said, most of the courses that they offer are not really affordable to a lot of people. Most of the courses are priced above $1,000. Sure, some of them do get discounts every now and then. But you’re still spending a ton of money to purchase access to the course. On the other hand, you get lifetime access to whatever course that you will buy. So you don’t really have to worry getting charged again after a year or so.
You are going to spend so much money if you choose to actually get into investing and trading. There are going to be a lot of risks when you do. It is not guaranteed that you will earn your money back if you choose to invest in something. You really have to wait for something to yield a bounty.
