Proofread Anywhere Review – Not A Business I Would Recommend!

Today, we are going to talk about Proofread Anywhere. Is it legit? Find out more in this review.

There are a lot of different skill-based training programs available out there on the internet. Sometimes it’s just a good idea to be proficient in something. There is a chance that somebody might hire somebody who has a certain skillset. And with more and more jobs being available online, there is a demand for people with those kinds of skills.

Writing-based training programs are a dime a dozen. Knowing how to write well is just a good skill to have, regardless of what kind of writing job it is. Sometimes, when you write a long piece of text, you’re bound to have mistakes here and there. It takes up too much time trying to correct yourself as you write. That’s why a lot of people are in need of proofreaders.

Sometimes our eyes aren’t great at finding our own mistakes. Maybe it’s just human nature to avoid our own flaws. So you often need the help of other people to find those mistakes. It’s good to have somebody read your work. It’s hard to judge our work by ourselves, too.

So when I heard about Proofread Anywhere, I was intrigued. I hadn’t really come across a training program for such a skill like that. But it definitely seems that it has its merits. There were still a few questions I still have. But I feel like it’ll be answered by the end of this review.

Who Is Caitlin Pyle?

Proofread Anywhere creator Caitlin Pyle

Caitlin Pyle is the founder of Proofread Anywhere. There isn’t a lot that you can know about Caitlin, to be honest. I did find out that she had studied communications in college. So her career path made sense, in a way.

She started proofreading when she had studied in Germany for a year during college. It seems that a lot of students there wanted help with their essays. What’s surprising about this is that she was also getting paid to do this. That sort of started the ball rolling, in a sense.

When she graduated from college, she took up a job proofreading transcripts for court reporters. While she did enjoy the job that she was doing, she wasn’t really fond of working in an office setting like that. It seems most of the training programs that I have reviewed start off like this. They were earning a decent income from their office jobs. But working in that environment wasn’t something they enjoyed.

Sort of fortunately for her, she got fired. She was doing her job well, for the most part. I guess they weren’t really fond of her doing other stuff during company time. Even though she had already finished work by the time she was doing some of her own projects. In hindsight, it was the right push she needed to pursue what she wanted to do professionally.

Even though she got fired, she still did some freelance work for the court reporters she had already worked with. She pretty much continued provide freelance proofreading services full-time after that.

What Is Proofread Anywhere?

It took quite a bit of time before Caitlin started Proofread Anywhere. She just wanted to show people how she was able to use her skills as a proofreader into a full-fledged business. Like I said earlier, there’s often a demand for specific skills. It may not be huge. But at least there are people who are in search for that skill.

There are two courses that you could take up in Proofread Anywhere. The first is a free seven-day course that gives an overview of what you might get into a proofreader. You will need to set up an account to the Proofread Anywhere platform before you can access it. They will send you a link to that website and a password to sign in.

Each module is sort of time-based. You can only access the succeeding module a day after you finish the previous one. It basically compresses the entire paid course. Once you have finished the seven-day course, you can choose whether or not to continue to the paid course.

Though, before you can sign up to the paid course, you will have to watch an hour-long video. You’re pretty much inside a sales funnel page for the paid course. This is normal. The video pretty much gives an overview of how Caitlin was able to get to where she is now.

I watched the webinar for proofread anywhere myself. To be very honest with you, that webinar sucks. It’s a time waste ,for people who just needs to know the basics of the business. For the first 30 minutes, she just introduced herself and just told the name of her course, proofread anywhere. The next thing she said is that her course had 4800 students at the moment and this in itself a proof that what he teaches works…Seriously?

Who knows whether they are successful or not?Failure to success ratio should be a parameter of whether the course works or not, not by the number of people enrolling in it.

There are quite few courses I have reviewed like proofread anywhere which are as below:

So What Are You Going To Get From The Paid Course?

Proofread Anywhere creator Caitlin Pyle

Considering that you’re going to pay a decent amount of money, it only makes sense that you’re getting a decent amount of resources from the course. When you pay $397 for the Ignite package, you get lifetime access to the 10-module course filled with 80+ lessons. There will be exercises scattered between those modules to see your progress. There are also worksheets that you can answer during your own time.

There are also supplementary e-books that the package provides. You also get access to a private community of your fellow students. That’s pretty standard when it comes to these paid training courses. And that’s pretty much it for the standard package.

For $497, you can sign up for the Ignite Plus package, you get everything that’s included in the Ignite package. This time around, it also includes a hand-graded exam and a digital certificate of completed. You will also get added to a directories like the Self-Publishing School’s preferred outsourcer rolodex. That means that you’re likely to get more clients from those that use Self-Publishing School’s platform. You also get access to another private group with the students who have completed the course.

Both seem like decently priced packages. The added bonus of getting added to a directory for proofreader may entice people to sign up for the Ignite Plus package. That definitely lessens the hassle of getting your name out there once you’ve finished the course.

Final Verdict – Proofread Anywhere Review

The course itself seems pretty decent. I feel like most people have a sense of what it takes to become a proofreader. But it take definitely takes a lot more skill to become somebody that people who hire. That’s pretty much the whole point of why Caitlin Pyle decided to start Proofread Anywhere.

I have checked out the free seven-day course that they offer. And it’s a good enough preview of what the paid course is going to be like. You shouldn’t expect it to be as detailed as the paid course. But it does give you an idea of what you should know in case you want to become a professional proofreader.

The price for the course isn’t as bad. Many people might not be able to afford it. But it is decently priced for what it’s worth. I feel like once you are able to get a few clients, you might be able to earn the money back. But it will take a bit of time before you can do that.

You can definitely start to improve your skills on your own time. The resources for doing so are available online. I mean, there’s the free seven-day course if you really can’t afford the paid one. You definitely have a lot of options to learn how to become a proofreader.

It is sometimes difficult to put your name out there. You will have to market the heck out of yourself. Sure, you may have the skills for it. But without marketing yourself, you can’t really find work. It takes a lot of guts to promote yourself.

Other then this I don’t like this business model.Looks like it is not long term and calling it a business is not so true. You are just going to beg website owners to edit their content?

I would have taken the course if it’s price would have been 20 bucks, maybe? But $397 is too much considering what she is going to teach you.
