Today we will be reviewing a company called PureTrim. Is PureTrim a pyramid scheme or scam? Find out in this PureTrim MLM review.
You probably have not heard of PureTrim before until someone who you are friends with in social media mentioned it to you.
The question is, why would they want to sell their products to you?
It may look like they think that you need their products, but the reality is, they have a far more sinister plan.
MLMs are well-known for how scummy and insistent they are when it comes to recruiting.
As long as you are a person with an active social media account, you are a potential customer to them.
Before we proceed with this PureTrim MLM review, I would like to give you an idea about these two terms first as they will keep appearing in this review: MLM and pyramid scheme.
MLMs and pyramid schemes are very similar because they both use the same business model – mass recruitment.
Pyramid schemes are illegal and are banned by the FTC.
MLMs, however, are still legal, and the loophole they found to breach the law is by selling products.
I would like to clarify that I am not affiliated with PureTrim in any way.
Hopefully this PureTrim MLM review can help you decide whether you want to sign up for the company or not.

What is PureTrim?
PureTrim is a multi-level marketing company that sells nutritional products.

These products look nothing special compared to their competitors.
That aside, PureTrim was founded by Mark Tahiliani.
From the get-go, there seems to be some red flags surrounding the company’s founder.
In 2001, the FTC sued Mark along with an MLM company that he owns, named Bigsmart.
Turns out that Bigsmart is found to be a pyramid scheme.
Mark settled the case for $5 million.
You can watch this video to find out more about PureTrim.
Just like your standard MLM, PureTrim advertises an affiliate program that lets their members run their own PureTrim business and earn money.
However, that does not mean that signing up is free of charge.
You need to pay a fee to register to start selling PureTrim products.
The company is currently based in Arizona, United States.
How Do MLMs Work?
Welcome to the section where we talk about why MLMs are the bane of society.
Today, we will be talking about the relationship between social media and MLMs.
Social media has not become an important part of everyone’s lives.
This is the main tool we all use to be able to get in touch with people even though they live miles away.
Social media is also a great way to get to know new people.
However, MLMs see social media as a stepping stone to their success.
Since MLMs employ the direct-selling method to get sales, what better place is there than social media?
A typical social media network has millions of members.
In Facebook, for example, a user can add up to 5,000 friends.
For MLMs, they see this as 5,000 potential customers.
It also seems like MLMs just copy and paste their sales message.
I will not be surprised that you already managed to receive many messages containing a ridiculous amount of emojis.
That is just the typical style of the messages that these hunbots send to their friends in social media.
The best way to avoid this is to disable the feature in your account that allows you to receive messages from strangers.
That way, you can filter out all these spam.
Other than that, I am not sure if there is any other way to repel these hunbots’ shenanigans.
It’s also quite appalling as to why these MLMs always target the gullible and the desperate.
Most members of MLMs I know of are stay-at-home or single mothers.
If you are desperate for income, I highly suggest staying away from an MLM.
There are much better ways to earn money where you don’t have to be exploited at all.
Is PureTrim a Pyramid Scheme?
Since PureTrim members earn money both by selling services and recruiting new members, then it is safe to say that PureTrim is not a pyramid scheme.
PureTrim is an MLM, so expect that you will be earning more money from recruiting rather than selling.
This is the main reason why PureTrim looks like a pyramid scheme in disguise.

Like Origami Owl, HB Naturals, and Pruvit, PureTrim is not a pyramid scheme.
Is PureTrim a Scam?
No, PureTrim is not a scam.
This is just a basic quality that all businesses should possess.
Even though PureTrim is not a scam, you should not let your guard down around it.
To be able to learn more information about a particular company you want to be a part of, it is best to do your own research.
The best sources of information you could find are third-party sources.
These sources are unbiased and well-researched.
Also, they have no direct input from the company so you can be assured that these will not be skewed in their favor.
You also need to read reviews of the products since you will be the one in charge of selling them if you decide to join the company.
This is common sense since you need to be able to market the products to get sales.
Also, testimonials are important.
The best kind of testimonials to look for are ones from ex-members.
These stories will help shed a light on the company’s treatment of their members.
How to Make Money from PureTrim
Since PureTrim is an MLM, there are only two ways to make money with the company. and these are:
- Selling products
- Recruiting members
The company also offers benefits to their most hardworking members.
How can you be considered as hardworking then?
Simple. You need to build a downline.
Building a downline involves recruiting people.
The more people you recruit, the more money you make.
You also get commissions from the sales of people you recruited.
This is very favorable for the company because they will earn more money when more people invest in them.
From where do they get the investment, you ask?
It is from the registration fee and from what you pay the company for your initial orders.
How to Join PureTrim
The only option to join PureTrim is by signing up for the affiliate membership, which costs $29 annually.
In order to qualify for the business opportunity, you must purchase $400 worth of products in a single month as an affiliate.
To maintain your active status and to keep receiving commissions, you must buy $199 to $399 worth of products per month.
PureTrim Products

The company sells the following products:
- PureTrim Shakes (Mediterranean Wellness Shake)
- Boost Tea (Metabolism & Craving Control)
- TrimBar (Organic Meal Replacement)
- Joint Tea (Improve Joint Health)
- Joint Mist (Improve Joint Health)
- Cardio 9 (Energy & Nitric Oxide Levels)
- Daily Complete (Liquid Multi-vitamin)
- Experience (Regularity & Colon Cleansing)
- LiverMaster (Liver Cleanse)
- SynergyDefense (Immune & Digestive Support)
- Pure Gardens (Face and Body Serum)
- Clear (Intestinal & Immune Support)
- Female Balance (PMS & Menopause Support)
These products all seem to be pretty standard and common.
However, PureTrim seems to advertise them as “unique” and “groundbreaking”, which do not make sense.
Things I Like in PureTrim
I do not think there’s anything I like here.
It just seems like your common run-of-the-mill MLM that no one cares about.
Things I Dislike in PureTrim
CEO’s Not so Pleasant History
It seems like the CEO has been caught by the FTC before for running a pyramid scheme.
Do you think that PureTrim is being run differently, then?
Well, from the looks of it, it seems like PureTrim is being ran the same way.
Expensive Products
This is the main challenge that you will be facing if you ever plan to join PureTrim.
The products are not really unique whatsoever.
There is nothing special about the products that this company is selling.
For the price you pay, it does not seem worth it.
The products are so ridiculously overpriced.
Not a lot of people are willing to shell out a lot of money for products that could be found cheaper elsewhere.
Too Expensive to Start
Not only are the products expensive, but PureTrim thinks that you need to show your dedication first before they could even let you in.
To do that, you will need to buy $400 worth of products so that you can start selling PureTrim products.
Doesn’t that sound ridiculous to you?
Gotta Keep Buying
It seems like all this company wants to do is drain your bank account.
To be able to maintain your active status and receive commissions, you will need to keep buying PureTrim products.
This is also what the compensation plan encourages you to do.
Your rewards are based on how much you buy, not how much you sell.
If you cannot sell the products, you will have to buy them for personal use.
So, how much PureTrim products does one person need?
Not much.
But how much does PureTrim want you to buy?
A city’s worth.
Autoship is Encouraged
The bad qualities of this company does not seem to want to stop.
This company encourages the use of autoship.
This means that you will continue receiving products monthly to your doorstep despite of how much you really need.
You keep getting charged every month for products you do not even know you can sell.
No Income Disclosure Statement
Just when you think it could not get any more worse, you are hit with this fact.
It seems like the company is being ran in a shady manner.
You know that I always say that it is a red flag when a company refuses to share their income disclosure statement.
In this case, PureTrim is the perfect example.
It seems like all this company wants is to drain your bank account and your savings.
Why would they not want to share the data that shows how much people will actually make?
They ask for quite a hefty joining fee, so this is the least they could do, right?
No. It doesn’t seem like they care about their members at all.
PureTrim Compensation Plan
I could not seem to find the proper document for this so the data I got is pretty minimal.
You can get paid according to PureTrim’s compensation plan with these ways:
- Retail Commissions – from your sales
- Residual Commissions – from your downline’s sales
- Gold Bonus – for those who reached 3 Star Promoter rank and above
- All Star Matching Bonus – for recruiting 7 Direct Promoters in 30 days
- Fast Start Bonus – for recruiting an affiliate that qualifies as a Direct Promoter
- Frontline Bonus – bonus for when your recruited Direct Promoters buy products

Final Verdict – PureTrim
Before I end this PureTrim MLM review, let me share a few more thoughts with you.
Just when I thought I saw the worst that an MLM has to offer, I encounter PureTrim.
I could honestly say that PureTrim is the absolute worst MLM company I have ever reviewed, and I have reviewed a lot of MLMs already.
PureTrim only cares about one thing – getting money from you.
It does not care whether you run a successful business or not.
All it wants you to do is keep giving them money.
Not only that, but they charge ridiculous prices for the most basic things.
I am 100% sure that you can get their products for way less in a proper business establishment.
PureTrim is the best example of a greedy corporation that does not care about their investors at all.
If you are really desperate for extra income, stay away from this company.
That’s it for my PureTrim MLM review. Hopefully this PureTrim MLM review helps with your decision.
