Playing video games has always been a great activity for many people to get rid of stress. Aside from providing hours of steam-blowing enjoyment, it also has some surprising health benefits as well.
Usually, to make money playing video games, you need to do either of these three things: Be a video game YouTuber, join an eSports team, or be a video game streamer on various platforms (either Twitch or Facebook gaming).
However, setting up any of these three things mostly requires plenty of time and effort. And most people simply don’t have the resources required to do that.
Fortunately, there are plenty of moneymaking systems that only require you to play casually to earn money. Rewarded Play is an example of that system.
In this Rewarded Play app review, we’re to take a look at Rewarded Play itself, how it works, and the pros and cons of this app. More importantly, we’ll also determine if the Rewarded Play app is a fraud or not.
So stick around and read this Rewarded Play app review. And determine for yourself if this is a good way for you to earn some side income, or not.
And while you’re here reading this Rewarded Play app review, why don’t you check out my #1 recommendation to making money online after reviewing 300+ online apps and courses.

What Is Rewarded Play?
“Play games & earn rewards.”
This is the phrase that’s stated at the beginning of this app. And perfectly sums up everything about it.
Basically, Rewarded Play is an Android app that lets you earn points for simply trying out any of their sponsored games. These points, in turn, can then be used to exchange for gift cards for various products like Amazon, Walmart, eBay, etc.
Rewarded Play DOESN’T let you earn real money, to be clear. But if you regularly use these services, then these gift card rewards are almost as good as cash.
How Can You Earn In Rewarded Play?
To start earning from Rewarded Play, download the app from Google Play Store first.
Once you downloaded and opened the app, you’ll then be taken to this screen.
From here, you can view the games that you can play here to earn points, as well as other activities. Some of the activities that could be done to earn points here are only available for first-time users of this app.
To start earning points from playing games, simply tap on any game of your choice from the list. There are over a hundred games to choose from the list, but most of them fall into the category of casual games.
Take note that you can only earn reward points IF you installed the game via Rewarded Play.
If you already installed it via a different method, either directly from Google Play Store or some other GPT app, you should uninstall that game and install the game via Rewarded Play here.
To start earning points from this game, you need to complete several tasks.
As seen from the example game (Best Fiends), some of the tasks can be as simple as playing the game for an extended period of time. However, some of the tasks that give higher points require that you make an in-app purchase on the game itself (but not on the Rewarded Play app. There are no in-app purchases on Rewarded Play).
List Of The Sponsored Games In Rewarded Play
These are just some of the games that you can play in Rewarded Play to earn points. Note that the list isn’t exhaustive, and there are still more games constantly being added to the list at the time of writing.
- Bingo Blitz
- Best Fiends
- Wheel of Fortune
- Mystery Society
- World Series Poker
- Harry Potter
- Word Alchemy
- Pirate Kings
- Cookie Jam Blast
Other Ways To Earn Points
Aside from playing games, there are also other ways in which you can earn points in Rewarded Play.
“Comeback Points” lets you earn a small number of points every minute. They usually double in amount every time they are claimed, and can only be claimed a number of times before you can try again the next day.
If it’s your first time using the app, you can also earn points by logging into the app for a total of 5 consecutive days. You can also earn +200 bonus points every day.
Finally, you can earn even more points on your first time on the app, by completing your profile details.
Do take note that the points that you can earn from these methods still pale in comparison to those given when you try out their sponsored games.
And do take note that the number of points that you can gain per day with this app is always capped at 5,000. This means, if you reached 5,000 points within the day, you can never gain more points for this day. You have to wait until tomorrow.
Redeeming Your Rewards
To redeem your coins, simply go to the “My Rewards” section in the options menu.
You can exchange the points you gained for a variety of gift cards. Here’s a list of the gift cards that you can claim.
- Best Buy
Is Rewarded Play Legitimate?
The short answer, yes. Unlike most apps that claim to pay you while playing, Rewarded Play DOES pay for your hard work in this app.
In fact, it even has several positive reviews on Google Play Store. Most of the players who tried this app DID claim their gift card rewards.
But despite its legitimacy, there are still some pros and cons that you should take note of. Especially when you’re considering spending quite a bit of time with this app.
Pros of Rewarded Play
As said before, there’s no question about the legitimacy of this app. You CAN claim the rewards that you redeemed with Rewarded Play.
The waiting time for the rewards can vary, however. While there’s some feedback that the gift cards you claimed can take several days to arrive, most of them have claimed it much faster, usually just a few hours.
There’s also a variety of casual games that you can choose from to play here. With this much variety, there’s always a game here that’s suitable for your taste.
Finally, the gift cards you can redeem from this app are all usable for popular stores, so all of them are fairly useful. Especially when you shop a lot from them.
Cons Of Rewarded Play
Rewarded Play is not without its cons, however.
The most obvious con is, it doesn’t pay in real money. Only through gift cards.
There’s no option to cash out to PayPal o any other payment processor. Therefore, you can’t really make much money with Rewarded Play.
Fortunately, there’s a good solution for this. You can simply sell your acquired gift cards to anyone who is a regular shopper at any of these shops.
Another thing to note is that, this app doesn’t really pay much. Though it’s really just a minor con compared to the fact that it LEGITIMATELY pays you.
But sometimes, some of the objectives that require you to make an in-game purchase to earn a lot of points, aren’t really worth the cost for the reward it gives out.
So, Is Rewarded Play Worth Trying Out?
Rewarded Play is still worth trying out if you like to play casual games for relaxation and STILL make a quick buck or two over it. Even more since the app pays legitimately.
However, it’s not suitable as a full-time, or even semi-full-time, method to make money online. If you really want to make money online through gaming, there are several alternatives that you can try.
Alternatively, you may want to check out this business model that I personally recommend.
Alternatives To Rewarded Play?
Despite the legitimacy of Rewarded Play, there are still some gamers out there who may want a little more complexity and competition on what they play.
If you’re one of those people, and you want to earn money while playing…
Then you may want to try your hand at NFT games. They provide some level of gaming fun, all while you earn a decent income.
NFT games can also come in any gaming genre, so there’s always an NFT game that is suitable for your taste.
However, there are still some drawbacks when you’re going to want to play NFT games as a source of income online.
- NFT games are based on cryptocurrency, which is a rather volatile investment. This means that the payout from these games can rapidly go up, or even drop dramatically, all on short notice. So if the value of their in-game currency drops, then so are your real-life earnings.
- If the NFT game that you want to join is already an established game, the barrier for joining these games can be very high, cost-wise. In cases like this, “scholarship programs” for these NFT games are available, where they’ll let you play the game without investing in anything. The condition, of course, is that you will split your earnings to the one that took you under their wing.
- NFT games are at most competitive in nature, so prepare for a bit of legwork if you want to really earn from these games.
Plus, not all people find gaming their preference, so this may still not work for everyone. Also, if having passive income is your preference, then this may or may not work for you.
