SeneGence MLM Review: Pyramid Scheme or Scam?

Today we will be reviewing a company called SeneGence. Is SeneGence a pyramid scheme or scam? Find out in this SeneGence MLM review.

I think I can assume that you never heard about SeneGence before. Not many people know that the company exists, and honestly, that’s reassuring.

You probably became aware of this company when someone from social media told you about it. It is most likely a family member or friend that has recently signed up for this so-called ‘great opportunity’.

If they are not someone you know, it is most likely a hunbot that refers to herself as #BossBabe and believes that hustling people to join an MLM is the best way to succeed in this day and age.

Before we start the review, I think I owe you an explanation regarding two terms that you will encounter a lot of times as you read on: MLM and pyramid scheme.

Simply put, pyramid schemes are downright illegal. MLMs operate like pyramid schemes but they get away with the legal repercussions because they sell products.

To clarify, I am not affiliated with SeneGence in any way.

In this SeneGence MLM review, I will be providing information about the company, its products, and how you can make money with it.

Hopefully this SeneGence MLM review can help you decide whether you want to sign up for the company or not.

My #1 Recommendation

What is SeneGence?

SeneGence is a multi-level marketing company that sells cosmetics and beauty products.

SeneGence MLM Review - SeneGence products

The company was founded by Joni Rogers-Kante in 1999. That’s pretty impressive to know that the company still continues to operate to this day.

MLMs do not usually last that long. The lifespan of MLMs only range from 1-3 years, so for a company to continue operating for this long means that they are being managed properly.

SeneGence promises people an opportunity to make money. You can watch this video to learn more details about that:

Just bear in mind that the goal of this video is to sell this opportunity.

The information being presented here is mostly likely skewed in the company’s favor. It is better to get your information from third-party sources, like this review.

SeneGence is currently based in California, United States.

How Do MLMs Work?

Before we proceed with the rest of review, it is important to know how MLMs work.

It isn’t that simple, to be honest. MLMs are quite different from regular companies and businesses.

Let’s focus on that for a moment. MLMs are a business. Businesses want to make money.

A business that does not make money is something that is not worth investing in, right?

Well, in an MLM’s case, it differs greatly. If you want to be a part of an MLM, you will need to invest money in it.

Not only that, but you also need to invest your time and effort. Why is that, you ask? Well, in an MLM, not only are you the investor, but you also are the employee.

MLMs do not really pay for advertisements because their members do the advertising for them.

Not only that, but the members are also the one in charge of selling and marketing products.

That sounds more like a job than a business, if you ask me.

And the worst part? You will only be paid commissions for your sales. All your efforts in advertising and marketing are all ignored.

Imagine how much work you will have to do just to be able to sell products. I am pretty sure that you deserve more compensation than that.

Is that fair? No, I don’t think so. Sounds like exploitation if you ask me.

Now you know why MLMs target the desperate and the gullible like single mothers and the unemployed. Those are the people willing to do anything just to make some money.

Disgusting and scummy. This is why I do not like MLMs at all.

Is SeneGence a Pyramid Scheme?

Since SeneGence members earn money both by selling services and recruiting new members, then it is safe to say that SeneGence is not a pyramid scheme.

However, let’s not forget that this is an MLM we are talking about. MLMs push recruiting more than selling.

Pyramid scheme vs Multi-level marketing

Like Tupperware, Nature’s Sunshine, and Belcorp, SeneGence is not a pyramid scheme.

Is SeneGence a Scam?

No, SeneGence is not a scam. However, I suggest watching this video first before even thinking about investing your money in the company.

I suggest that you look up videos like these to gain insights about how the company truly operates.

Like I said before, all the company is sharing are information skewed in their favor.

You need to learn valuable insights like this, especially from people who have been part of the MLM before.

Opinions from ex-members and YouTubers are a good source of information because they are unaffiliated with the company.

You can gain unbiased knowledge, and of course, it could help you decide whether this company is worth your time.

How to Make Money from SeneGence

There are only two major ways to make money from SeneGence:

  1. Selling products
  2. Recruiting members

If you want to rank up to get more ‘benefits’, you have to build a downline. How do you do that, you ask?

You have to keep recruiting new people. That is easier said than done. How many people can you even bring to the company by your own?

That is for you to answer, but I don’t think you can do it easily.

How Does SeneGence Work?

According to SeneGence, they use the direct selling method to be able to provide products to their consumers.

However, many sources seem to disagree with that, along with me.

SeneGence is clearly an MLM, by the way they do business. They push recruiting more than selling, and to be honest, you can earn more from recruiting than selling products.

The selling point of SeneGence is the unique ingredients found in their products.

The said ingredients are from all over the world, and SeneGence insists that they only use patented and proprietary formulations.

You can watch the video below to find out more.

Things I Like in SeneGence

Established Company

SeneGence has been around since 1989. That is quite impressive, since MLMs do not usually last long.

The lifespan of an MLM ranges from 1 to 3 years.

Since SeneGence has been operating longer than that, then they are probably doing something right.

However, even if they have been around for this long, you should not fully trust them.

This is still an MLM, after all.

LipSense is Well-Known

From a market that is dominated by a lot of bigger beauty brands, it is impressive how LipSense is still holding its ground.

I guess the product is really good. That is the only reasonable explanation.

How do you make your company stand out? Simple.

Make a kick-ass product, market it like crazy, price it low. Then just wait for the money to come in.

SeneGence MLM Review - SeneGence LipSense variants

The price point of LipSense is pretty competitive with the bigger brands, so it is not surprising that people are picking it up.

I haven’t tried LipSense before, but with all the positive feedback it has, I think I will need to.

Things I Dislike in SeneGence

No Income Disclosure Statement

Well, I can spot a red flag quite easily when it comes to MLMs.

Come on, now. People do their research before investing in an opportunity. This is why it makes me angry when a well-known company has no proper income disclosure statement.

It isn’t really in the law that MLMs have to do this, but an income disclosure statement is a pretty good piece of info that will help your members decide whether joining your company is a good idea or not.

Well, in this case, it seems like SeneGence chooses to hide it.

Why, you ask? I could only think of a single reason.

Maybe no one really makes that much money.

They advertise an opportunity that will let you make money without the hassle of holding a full-time job, and it seems like the reality is that it is not possible.

Just Keep Buying

Ever wondered why there are still MLMs to this day despite online shopping being the new norm?

Well, it seems like MLMs found the best customers they could ever get their hands on.

Who, you ask? The members, of course!

How do I even start explaining why this practice does not make sense?

Basically, you have to keep buying products to keep your active status. If you do not meet a certain quota, you lose the right to sell SeneGence products.

So, how does that work?

You have to sell a certain amount of products. If you cannot sell them, you have to buy them for ‘personal use’.

Also, ask yourself this. How often do people actually buy makeup?

You cannot expect to keep selling makeup to the same people. In my case, I only buy cosmetics four times a year. Some of the time, I think I buy more than I need.

Saturated Market

Beauty brands

Just look at all these brands.

These brands are all well-known and have a dedicated customer base.

How do you expect to compete with that?

Even I will choose to buy something from a well-known brand like ColourPop than try out SeneGence, a brand that no one knows about.

People know what they want. People use familiarity.

When they know what they want to buy and where to buy them from, they will keep coming back.

How do you think you could compete with big brands with aggressive advertising, celebrity collaborations, and worldwide fame?

Well, you can’t. So don’t bother trying.

SeneGence Compensation Plan

You can view and access SeneGence’s compensation plan here.

I don’t really get why MLMs release such complicated compensation plans.

They should remember that the people joining them just want to know how to earn money.

From what I understand by reading the document, here are the two major ways to get paid in SeneGence:

  • 20-50% commissions on product sales
  • bonuses from the sales of your downline

That basically explains that long and winded document.

This video can offer you a better explanation and not give you a headache.

Final Verdict – SeneGence

Let me share a few thoughts that could possibly influence your decision before I end this SeneGence MLM review.

All MLMs are the same. They just offer different products.

They employ the same tactic we all hate.

The companies operate the same way as pyramid schemes, and well, those are illegal.

So why are MLMs still allowed to operate? I guess that question is for FTC to answer.

Regardless, would you like to become a part of a business that is barely legal?

To be honest, I am just waiting for the FTC to shut down all MLMs sometime soon.

They are scummy, exploitative, and greedy.

All they are after is your money, and they would not stop until they bleed you dry.

If you want to make extra money, there are better ways. Look elsewhere.

This SeneGence MLM review is here to let you know that I will never recommend an MLM.

However, you do not need to follow my advice. I am just here to guide you.

That’s it for my SeneGence MLM review. Hopefully this SeneGence MLM review helps with your decision.
