Silver Icing Review: Should You Join This MLM?

Today we will be reviewing a company called Silver Icing. Is Silver Icing a scam? Find out in this Silver Icing review.

Just imagine yourself being in charge of your own hours. You get to choose how many hours to work, and you can balance having a social life while getting some healthy alone time. That is a pretty good situation to be in.

I am sure that what brought you here today is the hope that one day, that possibility will come to life. After your encounter with a hunbot who works for Silver Icing, you realized that there is an option of becoming your own boss, and you can do it just by paying hundreds of dollars to this hunbot.

Well, I wish that the interaction you had will lead to a better future for you and your family, but the reality is that you are being used. You have everything to lose and nothing to gain, basically.

As you read through this Silver Icing review, you will be learning a lot about the company and the business model known as MLMs. Sit back, relax, and grab some popcorn.

Before we go further in this Silver Icing review, I will define two terms first: MLM and pyramid scheme.

MLM members make money by selling products and recruiting new members. In pyramid schemes, members could only make money by recruiting people. Pyramid schemes are illegal and banned by the FTC.

As a disclaimer, I am not affiliated with Silver Icing in any way.

Hopefully this Silver Icing review can help you decide whether you want to sign up for the company or not.

What is Silver Icing?

Silver Icing Review - Silver Icing intro

Silver Icing is a multi-level marketing company that sells clothing. Their selling point is how trendy and affordable their clothes are. The company was founded by Christina Marcano in 2011. As with other MLMs, earning money in this company involves both sales and recruitment.

Marcano has a lot of experience with working in the fashion industry. According to their website, the company was founded with creating a healthy work-life balance in mind.

The company also won quite a lot of awards, including YWCA Women Of Distinction Award 2000 Finalist and Surrey Business Excellence Awards “Corporate Social Responsibility Winner”. Silver Icing also has a lot of partner brands including Pepper & Zoe, Kick Bath, Sparrow Cove, and more.

Silver Icing is just one of the many MLMs in the fashion market, along with LuLaRoe, Cabi, and Stella & Dot.

How Do MLMs Work?

This section is dedicated to discussing MLMs in general. Take note that we pause from talking about the current MLM in question here. We compare similarities between MLMs here, from the lies they tell, the tactics they use to manipulate people, and how scummy their business models are.

If you ask me what my opinion is regarding MLMs, well, I think that these companies are the worst, and they are willing to do whatever means necessary just to get their hands on your money. I do not recommending joining one. You will find out in section why I have such strong opinions against these companies.

If you think that being a member of an MLM is classified as a legitimate job, then you are wrong. MLMs have the audacity to post their so-called “job opportunities” on social networking sites, on the hopes of getting people to click their ad and get in touch with them.

It’s a pretty scummy move. They want you to think that you will be earning a steady income just by paying a few hundred bucks and getting started. The things you need to do to make this opportunity work is a lot more compared to responsibilities you need to fulfill in a regular corporate job.

I completely disagree with the way that MLMs run, because their foundation is lying. They lie to you the moment they meet you. They lie to you in your training phase, and even though it is obvious to people that MLMs have a bad reputation, they don’t seem to want to give up.

MLMs also lie about how much money their members earn. The reality is that 99% of people who join MLMs do not make money, and they cannot even earn back the initial fee they paid. It is pretty sad, really.

Is Silver Icing a Pyramid Scheme?

Since Silver Icing members earn money both by selling services and recruiting new members, then it is safe to say that Silver Icing is not a pyramid scheme.

However, since Silver Icing is still an MLM, do not expect to make money if you have no plans on recruiting people. Recruiting will earn you significantly more money than actual product selling, and is more encouraged.

This just makes Silver Icing look like a pyramid scheme in disguise, doesn’t it?

Pyramid scheme vs Multi-level marketing

Like Tropic Skincare, Simply Naturals, and Miessence, Silver Icing is not a pyramid scheme.

Is Silver Icing a Scam?

No, Silver Icing is not a scam.

However, if you think this is enough for you to jump in Silver Icing’s so-called opportunity straight away, then I suggest that you hold your horses. This is just the most basic thing, so don’t go signing up for this company right away.

Before making your decision, I suggest that you do a thorough research on the MLM first. You can consult some of the sources I listed below. Take note that you can definitely consult any source you want to, but the sources I listed below are the best kinds to consult, for various reasons listed.

What Sources Should You Look For?

There are three kinds of sources that you can consult when it comes to researching MLMs. There are other kinds of sources, but I believe that these three sources will be of the most help to you.

The best source that is available online is the Silver Icing review you are reading right now. This review is a good example of a third-party review. From the name itself, it means that these reviews are published by entities that are not affiliated with any MLMs. This means that you could trust that the reviews you will be reading are impartial and unbiased.

Reviews take quite some time to write because of all the fact-checking and research that are poured into them. A lot of sources have to be looked into and double-checked just to get the data right, in order to prevent the spread of misinformation. Because of this, a lot of MLMs are exposed of their wrongdoings, as all facts are brought to light.

There are also active online communities that discuss MLMs. These communities have thousands of active members who post and comment everyday on the forum threads. They also update the information in the forums as much as they could, so that new members would not be misled.

These forum members are also open to discussions and to answering inquiries that you may have. I suggest that you turn to them if you have any unanswered questions after reading this Silver Icing review.

How to Make Money from Silver Icing

Since Silver Icing is an MLM, there are two basic ways to make money with the company. and these are:

  • Selling products
  • Recruiting members

These are the mere basic ways with which you can earn money in Silver Icing. Take note that the earnings you can get from this company and other MLMs in general are via commission basis, which means that your income is not stable. Unlike a regular job, there are a lot of times where you will not be earning a penny, even if you work extra hard.

Earning money in an MLM is not as easy as these companies advertise. It is actually pretty hard to sell MLM products because they are not really as unique as they make it sound. Most of the products are just rebranded things that already exist in the market.

The hunbot who got in touch with you is someone who is trying to make a living just like you. You are all competing with each other in terms of customers and people to recruit. It’s a toxic system.

Remember that the MLM business model is not sustainable, so as time goes by, you will run out of people to recruit.

MLMs do not really care about how many products you sell. What they care about is how many you buy and how many people you can bring in.

Silver Icing Products

Silver Icing sells the following types of products:

  • tops
  • bottoms
  • dresses & rompers
  • denim
  • outerwear
  • curvy
  • mom and kids wear
  • men’s wear
  • shoes
  • beauty products
  • accessories
  • sleepwear

How Much Can You Make?

It took me quite some time searching for this company’s income disclosure statement, but turns out that they do not publish one. Looks like we are adding Silver Icing to the list of companies who refuse to share such vital information to the public.

Since we do not have the proper data to properly address how much money Silver Icing members make, it is worth noting that this is not an isolated case. To be honest, majority of the MLMs I have reviewed do not publish one. It is a practice that most MLMs seem to agree on, but it is downright scummy.

An aspiring MLM member has the right to know whether they can make money on the MLM they want to join. It is pretty basic. Just tell them the truth.

However, the truth is often far from what these MLMs tell people. No, it is not true that this is a guaranteed way to be rich. If it is, then I am sure that many people would have signed up.

Things I Like in Silver Icing

Established Company

Silver Icing was established in 2011, which means that they have been in the market for a decade now. It is quite impressive, considering that most MLMs do not even live to see 3 years. The owner is also fairly young and is already making waves in the market, as seen with the many awards that the company has won.

The competition is pretty tough in the fashion scene too, and Silver Icing seems to be doing well against all that.

Wide Selection of Products

Focusing on many products can be a tough call, especially for a company that is in a competitive niche. After all, it is best to focus on a single type of product, because that way, the quality can be retained for every piece.

Silver Icing, on the other hand, seems to have consistent quality-control on their products. I guess this is why they won all those awards.

Things I Dislike in Silver Icing

Expensive Products

Silver Icing’s prices are pretty steep compared to their non-MLM competition, giving buyers an easy choice of not choosing the brand. I am sure that they have a reason for this, but it is not really that valid.

Most of the MLM companies I have reviewed have overpriced products. I think it is a trend, but yeah, it is a bad one.

It is an MLM

This is an MLM, so it means that a lot of people definitely failed in this venture. In fact, 99% of people who join MLMs fail to make money, and they do not even earn back their initial investment.

Silver Icing Compensation Plan

Here are the ways to get paid in Silver Icing:

  • Retail Commissions. You can earn 10% to 25% commissions for every product you sell. Commissions vary depending on your rank. For every $200 worth of products sold, you get a 50% commission on a single item.
  • Residual Commissions. For every item sold by members of your downline, you get 5% commissions.

You can watch this video to learn more about how you can get paid in Silver Icing.

Final Verdict – Silver Icing

Before I end this Silver Icing review, I would like to share a few more insights that could help you.

Now that you have reached the end of this Silver Icing review, I hope that you were able to find the answers to your inquiries about the company. As a way of thanking you for reading the review up to this point, let me share a few more bits of advice which will surely be useful for you in the future.

Even though this MLM has won quite a lot of awards, it still does not mean that you should give it your full trust. An MLM is still an MLM. This company still uses that scummy business model, so I suggest that you stay away from it.

Aside from that, you will not be getting the earnings that you are hoping to get here. If you are planning to quit your job to join an MLM, I advise against doing so. You will not be paid for all the time and effort you spend in marketing products. You will only be paid by making sales. And what happens if you do not make sales?

You earn zero. Even if you work hard, you do not earn money.

I know a better way to make money, which you can find on the next section.

That’s it for my Silver Icing review. Hopefully this Silver Icing review helps with your decision.
