Today we will be reviewing a company called Tiens. Is Tiens a scam? Find out in this Tiens Review.
I am sure that when that Tiens hunbot reached out to you, you had absolutely no idea what you were in for. I cannot blame you though, no one can definitely prepare themselves for something like this. Most of the time, it is completely random, as if these people just choose someone via some lottery system.
I am glad, however, that you decided against trusting someone you just met with your hard-earned money. Some people can be easily persuaded by a few words, and end up losing all their money in the process. I guess that is a whole other scam that shares a few similarities with MLMs.
Well, it is of no surprise that you are not aware that this company exists. MLMs thrive in obscurity, with the only reason why people become aware of them is because they can get pretty annoying. I am sure that there are people out there who got bothered by not only one MLM in their lifetime.
In this Tiens review, I will be discussing a lot about the inner workings of the company. If you are thinking of joining this company, then I suggest that you sit back, relax, and let me do the talking.
Before we go further in this Tiens review, I will define two terms first: MLM and pyramid scheme.
MLM members make money by selling products and recruiting new members. In pyramid schemes, members could only make money by recruiting people. Pyramid schemes are illegal and banned by the FTC.
As a disclaimer, I am not affiliated with Tiens in any way.
Hopefully this Tiens review can help you decide whether you want to sign up for the company or not.
Before we proceed with the Tiens review, check out my #1 recommendation to making money online after reviewing 300+ MLM companies.
What is Tiens?

Tiens is a multi-level marketing company that was founded in China. It is a company that focuses on nutritional supplements, other health products, products for the home, and even beauty products. Basically, they have a wide product selection.
Li Jinyuan founded the company in 1995, and they have been expanding globally ever since. In 1997, Tiens had entered the international market, and right now, they have been operating in almost 100 countries with 12 million members under them.
Li Jinyuan is a Chinese investor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. In 2011, he was featured in Forbes’ list of billionaires. He was ranked as the 24th richest person in China.
As this company is an MLM, the main ways to earn money are through commissions from sales and recruitment.
How Do MLMs Work?
Welcome to the section where we discuss MLMs in general. Here, we take a quick break from the MLM in question (Tiens, in this case), and talk about the truth behind MLMs. This section is composed of some common knowledge, yet MLMs would not want to share it with you because they will be exposing themselves by doing so.
I suggest that you read the entire section so that you get the knowledge you need. Take note that not only you will benefit from this, but it would also help if you share this knowledge to others who may ask you about MLMs.
Let me tell you what I think about MLMs before we discuss them further. In my opinion, MLMs are the worst. They have good persuasion skills, but instead of using it on good deeds, they use it to bury people into crippling debt.
If you are thinking right now that they could not possibly get any worse, well, let’s just say that that is an understatement. They one-up themselves by asking people to recruit their friends and family into the business, thus spreading the virus.
You may be thinking that I am exaggerating, but I have quite a lot of sources to back up my claims. MLMs love advertising themselves as legitimate jobs, even though most people who join MLMs cannot even earn back their initial investment. It is so bad to the point that people lose their life savings over these.
MLMs are examples of get-rich-quick schemes that disguises themselves as business opportunities. If you are smart enough to not fall for those, then why would you join an MLM?
I suggest that you take your money elsewhere. There are a lot of better opportunities available for you, so I suggest you read until the end to know my top recommendation.
Is Tiens a Pyramid Scheme?
Since Tiens members earn money both by selling services and recruiting new members, then it is safe to say that Tiens is not a pyramid scheme.
However, since Tiens is still an MLM, do not expect to make money if you have no plans on recruiting people. Recruiting will earn you significantly more money than actual product selling, and is more encouraged.
This just makes Tiens look like a pyramid scheme in disguise, doesn’t it?

Like Wikaniko, Zurvita, and Ann Summers, Tiens is not a pyramid scheme.
Is Tiens a Scam?
No, Tiens is not a scam.
However, if you think this is enough for you to jump in Tiens’ so-called opportunity straight away, then I suggest that you hold your horses. This is just the most basic thing, so don’t go signing up for this company right away.
Before making your decision, I suggest that you do a thorough research on the MLM first. You can consult some of the sources I listed below. Take note that you can definitely consult any source you want to, but the sources I listed below are the best kinds to consult, for various reasons listed.
What Sources Should You Look For?
There are three kinds of sources that you can consult when it comes to researching MLMs. There are other kinds of sources, but I believe that these three sources will be of the most help to you.
The best source available online for you is this review that you are currently reading. This Tiens review is more commonly referred to as a third-party review. Third-party reviews, like what their name states, are reviews published by entities who have no affiliation towards the MLMs they are reviewing.
Yes, you read that right. We are not affiliated with any MLM, which means that any of the reviews published in this website are completely free of any biases. Take note that these reviews are published only with the benefit of the readers in mind, which means that we thorough research and fact-check information before publishing.
You can definitely leave comments in order to get in touch with us, but if you are looking for a more personal interaction, I suggest that you sign up for online forums. Most online forums I know of are very welcoming towards new members, so I am sure that someone will attend to your inquiries straight away.
Another thing I love about forums is that the vast amount of members posting and commenting everyday. This means that you get the most updated information, no matter what time you decide to visit them. Discussions are both synchronous and asynchronous, meaning that it is totally your choice on which ones to join in.
The main goal of these forums are to inform their users about the harm that MLMs bring, which is why I recommend joining them.
How to Make Money from Tiens
Since Tiens is an MLM, there are only two ways to make money with the company. and these are:
- Selling products
- Recruiting members
Take note that making money in an MLM is a lot harder than what these companies let you know. The problem with them is that they assure you that once you pay them a particular amount, all you have to do is start selling. It is like they guarantee that you will be making money as long as you take the opportunity.
Let me rebuff that right now. No, it is not easy to make money in an MLM. In fact, it is pretty hard, because MLM products are not easy to sell. You will know why I said this if you continue reading.
Also, you can avail bonuses which will help you increase your income. However, take note that these bonuses are only available to those with an active downline. A downline is basically the group of people who signed up directly under you. These people are the ones you personally recruited.
Remember that the MLM business model is not sustainable, so as time goes by, you will run out of people to recruit.
MLMs do not really care about how many products you sell. What they care about is how many you buy and how many people you can bring in.
How Much Can You Make?
It looks like Tiens has not published an income disclosure statement at all. I spent quite some time browsing through some documents online available, but none of them can tell how much money you can make if you join Tiens.
I do not know if this thought is comforting, but it seems like most of the MLMs I have reviewed have not released an income disclosure statement. Well, the truth is they are not really obligated to do so. It is optional.
However, for a company that boasts that it operates around the world, earning millions a year from their members, shouldn’t this be something they need to disclose to people? After all, the people who want to see them are people who want to potentially join the company. Surely Tiens owes them this information.
But no. Like a typical MLM that is not transparent at all, Tiens does not seem to want to share information that could potentially damage their reputation. I mean, who would join a company where you cannot make money anyway?
Things I Like in Tiens
Established Company
Tiens has been in the market since 1995, which means that they have been operating for more than two decades now. That is pretty impressive, considering how many other MLMs there are in the market. Other than that, the company has now millions of members, meaning that the business has became pretty profitable through the years.
The average lifespan of an MLM is only three years. Tiens has surpassed that, meaning that they seem to know what they are doing.
Sure, this company may be established from the get-go, but there are just so many red flags that we couldn’t possibly ignore.
Things I Dislike in Tiens
Recruit, Recruit, Recruit
The main focus of this company is not on the selling side, but on the recruitment side. It seems that this company incentivizes those who recruit more than those who only sell. This is kind of sad, considering that the main thing they pushed onto the people upon first meeting them is that they will be earning a lot of money by selling products.
Well, let’s just say that this is not the company’s first lie.
Warnings From the FDA
This is not good for Tiens, as they are making false claims about their products. The FDA warned them for doing so, which makes their claims a lot more questionable.
They use such claims to sell the products and the opportunity, so I guess this is enough to convince people not to believe anything this company says.
Questionable Reputation
In Tibet and Bangladesh, Tiens has been the subject of controversies. They are known to take advantage of people in these third-world countries. They mislead them with sales pitches that are not substantiated, and exaggerate the earnings they can make from joining the company.
This is quite a scummy tactic, considering that those people have already been going through a lot of things.
It is an MLM
This is an MLM, so it means that a lot of people definitely failed in this venture. In fact, 99% of people who join MLMs fail to make money, and they do not even earn back their initial investment.

Final Verdict – Tiens

Congratulations for reaching the end of the Tiens review! I am sure that after reading everything and getting quite a substantial amount of knowledge from this review, you have finally made a decision. Hold that thought and let me spare a few more tips that you can use in the future.
An MLM is definitely not a good investment. Most MLMs I have reviewed sell overpriced products, and most of these products are just worse versions of products that already exist in the market. Who would buy from you when people know how much products cost?
You may be feeling let down because you thought that this MLM will be your way out of your corporate job. Well, do not fret, as you dodged a bullet there.
I know about a better opportunity, so you should read the next section to find out what it is. Thank me later.
