E-commerce has experienced a bit of a boom in the past few years. People have their own reasons why the decided to create their own e-commerce store.  Some of them use e-commerce as an extension of their brick and mortar stores. While others are just trying out something new.

Anybody can start their own e-commerce store. But one of the major problems is what they’re going to sell. Not everyone has carved out their stake in a certain type of product market. So most of the time, people are just throwing stuff on the wall to see what sticks. Some are more successful than others when it comes to that.

There are multiple ways that you can become successful in e-commerce. One of the things that I see a lot of people on YouTube mention is dropshipping. I have known about dropshipping for a while now. And I can see why people are finding success in that.

But it was the first time that I have heard of Why Unified. With so many different platforms providing dropshipping services, it was hard to keep track of all of them. There are a lot of other companies providing their own dropshipping services. So I was kind of curious what makes them different to those companies.

When I first checked out the website for Why Unified, I was kind of shocked. The website for it looks pretty decent, all things considered. It looks like they put some effort into it. You could kind of tell that they have the money to afford a decent website.

As you scroll down, you’ll see a lot of logos from a few reputable trade publications. My first thought when I saw that was, “Wow, they really are fairly well-known, I guess.” I hadn’t really expected that this was a company that publications took notice of. Anybody can pay somebody to write an article about them and release it through a lot of different websites to add some “legitimacy.” I have seen it a lot of times before. And a lot of them involve dropshipping.

There really wasn’t anything that I could find on their website about Robert Nikic. The Why Unified website’s About Us only talks about when the company started. When I tried to click the logos for those publications, the results I got was interesting to say the least.

According to one of the articles from one of the online publications, Robert Nikic migrated to the United States from Yugoslavia. I guess his parents fled the country during the Balkan war. There isn’t really any other persona details about aside from that. Even at a young age, Robert had a knack for entrepreneurship. He apparently made his own websites.

The Start of Why Unified

Robert Nikic founded Why Unified in 2011. It was basically meant to help users with the tools they needed for dropshipping all in one website. E-commerce was becoming more of a thing during that time. A lot of people started buying stuff through Amazon. There was consumer base beginning to form.

I have mentioned dropshipping quite a bit in this post. But I have yet to talk about it. Well, until now.

Dropshipping is a method in e-commerce where you use a third-party supplier to deliver products to your customers. The main reason why dropshipping had blown up is because you didn’t have to worry about the inventory for your store. Allow me to explain it a little further.

So somebody buys a product from an online shop. When you sell stuff online, you often worry about keeping track of inventory. You don’t really know what kind of products are in demand until you start selling them. The problem with that it’s hard to keep the stuff that doesn’t get bought in you stock room. You kind of have to find a way to sell them.

With dropshipping, you don’t really have to worry all that much with inventory. When you employ dropshipping for your store, you’re basically letting somebody else handle the inventory and delivery for you. You’re still selling that item through your shop. But the third-party service is the one who is going to package and deliver that product to your customer.

Products that are bought through dropshipping platform like AliExpress are often fairly cheap. The people selling them through their own e-commerce store often sell it for a higher price. The person running the store doesn’t have to spend any money on anything except buying the item through the dropshipping platform.

So What Exactly Does Why Unified Do?

Why Unified has three different plans, depending on the type of service you want to get. First, there’s their Ads plan. It’s pretty self explanatory. They will make ads for your e-commerce business. That’s pretty much it.

They will try to create ads that target people who may be interested in your products. The three main platforms that they focus on are Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. It makes sense since a lot of people scroll down on their feeds. The cost of their ads plan is a monthly fee of $289.

The second plan is funnels. I have talked about funnels before. They are basically webpages that promote your product and/or services. A lot of businesses employ the sales funnel technique to turn leads into actual paying customers. The funnels plan also includes most of what’s in the ads plan for a monthly fee of $489.

The third plan is dropshipping. I have already mentioned dropshipping before so it’s no longer an unknown concept. Apparently, Why Unified will handle most of the work when you subscribe to their plan. They will sell products that are viral right now. There are two versions of this plan. Both are still monthly plans, but their Dropshipping Plus plan costs $1,499.99 while their Dropshipping Lite plan costs $689.

Their plans are definitely not cheap.

Final Verdict – Why Unified Review

Remember when I mentioned that there are a lot of people who pay money to certain online publications to write about them? You know, to add “legitimacy” to their company? Well, it turns out that most of the linked publications that’s on the Why Unified website are actually using press releases that Why Unified paid for. The first two links from Forbes and Fast Company are legitimate. But they’re not really articles, per se. It just links to a page that mentions that they’re part of this network where they can publish articles on their website.

In spite of all of that, I can’t really recommend their services to anyone. For people who are just starting out in e-commerce, it’s a lot of money to be giving to another firm. Like, yes, you should be marketing your products. But I don’t think everybody has $289 a month to spare for marketing. Especially for beginners in the market.

I don’t know if sales funnel websites are still a good idea in this day and age. I’m not really sure that it ranks high on search results nowadays. A few years ago, sure. It would have worked. But you’re bound to get a result for another sales funnel website that Why Unified also made.

Dropshipping isn’t as lucrative as it was in the past couple of years. Almost a lot of people who start their e-commerce journey because of some random YouTuber has employed dropshipping. And most of the time, their products are coming from the same place. People have definitely caught on that a lot of the products bought through dropshipping platforms aren’t that well-made.

There’s definitely nothing wrong with selling products through e-commerce. But if your product appeals to people, maybe you’ll find success in it.
