As easy as it is to reach an audience through TikTok’s For You page, you don’t really earn a lot of money from your videos. And that’s considering that you’re already part of TikTok’s creator program. But it takes a lot of time to become eligible for their creator program.
Even though YouTube does have a better monetization, it also takes a bit of time for somebody to build an audience there. Not everybody has the kind of presence that may garner an audience. Or maybe they’re just too shy to show their faces on camera. And thus the term YouTube automation comes into play.
A lot of different creators on YouTube have talked about YouTube automation in their videos. You can see title and thumbnails saying how easy it is to start using it. And to a certain point they’re right. But it’s hard to just rely on the videos that you watch on the platform. That’s why people like Samuel Snell created online training programs like YouTube Pilots.
But is YouTube Pilots actually good at teaching you how to use YouTube automation to earn money? Or are you just paying too much money for something that you could’ve just researched for yourself? That’s what we’re going to answer with this review.

The mentorship program that Samuel Snell and Jacob Challinor are offereing isn’t really worth it, considering that most information regarding YouTube automation is readily available online.
Who Are Samuel Snell and Jacob Challinor?
You would be surprised to learn that both Samuel Snell and Jacob Challinor are just in their early twenties. When you browse either of their respective accounts on TikTok, you will mostly see a bunch of videos that have fairly similar clips in them. Most of them are just your usual “rags to riches” kind of videos.
As you can see in Samuel’s videos, it seemed that he didn’t really have a lot of plans after high school. At 14, he was just working at a McDonald’s earning minimum wage. Three years later, it seems that there wasn’t really any direction to Samuel’s life. That is until Jacob introduced him to trading.
It’s not at all surprising that people their age would get into trading. Especially when you considering that type of trading they did mostly revolved around cryptocurrencies. Because both Samuel and Jacob were earning a decent amount of money from crypto, they decided to start a mentorship program called Crypto Gods where they teach people how to invest in cryptocurrencies. It seems that this particular program is no longer active.

What Is YouTube Automation?
There’s not a clear definition to what YouTube automation is. If you search for it online, you will get different definitions. Usually, automation refers to a process where you set a program to do specific tasks automatically without a lot of input from the user. One of the definitions for YouTube automation revolves around. You’re basically using different tools or programs to automate certain processes when it comes to running a YouTube channel. Usually, it’s things like scheduling uploads or adding captions. Some people do use automation to make their videos get more views. But that’s a bit of a slippery slope because your account and channel might get banned from YouTube.
The other definition of YouTube automation refers to outsourcing certain processes of the content creation pipeline. What that basically means is that somebody else does most of the work for you but you’re the one who owns the channel. Often times, you’ll see that a lot of the videos about YouTube automation often use the words “no face” in their titles. That’s because a lot of the channels that use YouTube automation often don’t have any front-facing person in their videos.
Usually, the videos are just some random stock footage they found and there’s a person doing narration for those videos. And it’s often AI-generated voices. You’ve probably seen a lot of videos like that show up when you search for a certain niche like technology or e-commerce. That’s because a lot of people often search for those terms. Most of the time, the types of videos that use YouTube automation are those that offer tutorials for a certain app or website.
What Is YouTube Pilots?
YouTube Pilots is a mentoring program created by Samuel Snell and Jacob Challinor that’s meant to help people learn how to earn money from running a YouTube channel. It’s not surprising at all that the two of them would make a pivot towards another niche. This happens quite often with a lot of those that started in crypto.
In the introductory video, Jacob mentions that they haven’t really launched the mentoring program to the public yet. He was very transparent in saying that the reason why they were only offering a trial of their program is because they needed to rack up a bunch of testimonials. It makes sense. This is their first time running another program that isn’t related to crypto. You kind of need to have a test run before you could launch something to the public.
In order to become part of the test run, you have to fill out a form on their website. One thing that’s sort of interest about that form is that you need to have an Instagram account in order to talk to them. Usually, forms like this would require you to input an e-mail address or a phone number. But it’s only the first time that I’ve seen communication happen through a social media app. I’m not really that communication via Instagram is the right way to do it. But most other training programs I’ve reviewed before do have a private group on Facebook.

Final Verdict – YouTube Pilots Review
There’s nothing really compelling about the mentorship program that Samuel Snell and Jacob Challinor offer. Considering that the program is still in its test period, you can’t expect that you will get a lot out of it. Sure, both Samuel and Jacob have their own respective YouTube channels and all. And Jacob has two different plaques that YouTube usually sends out when you’ve reached a certain number of subscribers. But they never really mention which channels exactly received that recognition. It’s sure not Jacob’s personal channel.
YouTube automation is a good way to lessen the load of running a YouTube channel. But unless you’re really passionate about doing the videos that you like to do, there’s not a compelling reason for you to do it. Sure, YouTube pays better compared to its competitors. But you will need to qualify for their partner program first before you could actually earn money from the views on your videos. And there’s a lot of criteria you need to meet for that to happen.
If you are really interested in learning about YouTube automation, there are plenty of videos on YouTube that will teach you just that. You don’t have to spend a ton of money to learn a new thing. I guess that having a mentor definitely helps you be accountable. But it’s not really needed when most things are being taught online. There’s such a vast amount of information available out there. But it is hard to filter what is good or not.
